        Re: Sharp LC-40LE830M no power

        Right.

So we have a few possible reasons,

So first check voltage at the main input ON the power board next to the fuse, If you have voltage there then either your test on the fuse was incorrect OR there is a broken joint either at the incoming side of the fuse or at the terminals for the Main input OR your meter/leads are faulty/set incorrectly

how are you testing the fuse? just to check your doing it right

Taking the black and red lines as the probes, i first place the probes at the ends of the fuse itself then at the wires.

Confirmation of voltage at the connector next to the fuse when plugged in?

If you get voltage leave the negative lead at the connector and put red to right side of that fuse, Reading?

voltage at the main input of the PSU measures 240V. I then place the red probe on both ends of the fuse and the black probe on the ground and measure both sides as 134.4V. Long capacitors still 0V

it reads 240V with negative end at the connector and red at right side of fuse

That is with meter on VDC with a probe to each leg of one capacitor correct?

Ok this is the point a Schematic would be very handy but not finding one anywhere.

You will need to get a good clear photo of the underside of the power board so it is possible to see all traces and read and markings clearly.

I am useless at tracing out circuits so someone else will have to take it from here, our member budm is very good at this and hopefully he jumps in when he comes online.

                              Good luck

hi newtothis, thanks for your patience and help in guiding me to check on my PSU. i'll have to continue tomorrow as it's almost midnight here in Singapore. Gotta rest now and work tomorrow. I'll remove the power board and will try to take a clear picture of it and hopefully budm will help me out with it. Thanks again

There is a secondary side of the power supply, marked with that thick line. You use the black probe on the mounting screw. On the primary side, the black probe, goes to the negative of those big capacitors.

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.
