    Philips DVDR 3510V / 05

This is a DVD / VCR Combi player / recorder . The problem is that the device does not turn on , all I can see lit on the device is two LEDS on the front panel . One of the leds's is for vcr and the other is dvd. The switch mode psu seems to be running , does any one have a circuit diagram of this device or any tips as to what the fault is.

Thanks guys I have got the service manual downloaded. I have no display lit on the VCR , also the standby LED on the on off button is not lit. All that is lit is 2 leds (vcr&dvd led) Power supply board seems to be kicking the correct voltages out. I noticed the 12 volt rail measured on the analogue board is showing 11.3 volts . I am guessing this may just be in tolerance but it seems a bit low. Could i ask any good electronics techs on here to help me work through this one. I suspect a fault on the digital board or maybe even the front panel display / button panel. I have not done vcr repair work in years but i would love to get this baby running even if it means buying a secondhand board off a scrapper from some where.

Hi, here I have exactly the same problem on same model.
It happened suddenly, without any previous malfunction.
            Did you find a solution?
Many thanks in advance for your precious support.

              Hi Techstar.
Thanks for your answer. From my side, after some hours spent in vane in analyzing the boards, I decided to pass through the assistance. They give me back the combo repaired in 24 hours. You know the repairers: they just give me generic infos regarding some components replaced on the analog board. Damn ! Although I thought to make pics of boards inside, I forgot to do it and now I can just have the impression that they replaced a pair of caps on the analog board.
              Anyway, now it's OK.
For your info, my wiring analysis made me determine that the problem is on the analog board that switches normally all the supplies to the rest of boards. Forget the power supply: also mine gives 11,3 V instead of 12, it's normal. The problem is related probably to the standby reset signal.
Hope above will be of some help for you. Good luck!

The ringed area is where I found some bad caps , C2131 (22uf 16v)
                C2102 (22uf 25v)
                C2125 (10 uf 35v)
                C2104 (22uf 50 v)
                C2210 (22uf 16 v)
                2110 (100uf 6.3v)
One of the caps (I forgot which one) had gone very low capacitance the others showed a higher ESR than they should have. I have managed to lift the print
in places and to be honest I have made a pigs ear of this job! it lifts soo easy so you have to be very very careful. .. Good luck should you be doing this job.

Hi, sorry to capture this thread, but I believe the people with knowledge of this recorder is very sparse.

I have this very same recorder (Philips DVR3510) and fail to finalize the recorded disks (DVD-R). Direct Dubbing or manual recording will start and stop at the end of the VCR, but then the disk is read as Blank (direct dubbing) or read blank after trying to finalize (which hangs at 99%). Manual recorded from the vcr can be played back as long as the disc is not ejected or the recorder is not turned of. After that the disc is blank again.

I previously repaired the tape deck and dvd drive and changed some defective caps on the power supply board.

Does anyone have a firmware update? Do you think this would be a caps problem - maybe a brown out of the microcontroller due to low voltage?
                  Does anyone have similar experience?

Probably just a good rule on these old machines, is just replace all the electrolytic caps, although they can last for many many years, they are really only expected to last 10 years or so.

DVR recorder Switching power supply Failure
                        by sam_sam_sam
When I originally started with my DVR recorder it had 4 individual switching switching power supply’s that were sh*t so I bought a 7 amp 12 volt switching power supply and modified the output plug and put a four output power supply cable to match the input power supply cable inputs

Which worked for over 14 years until a few days ago when the cameras went dark no picture anymore well it turns out now the switching power supply has stopped working altogether now so I have to troubleshoot what has happened to this power supply more later on today what I found

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

                        by janos6662000
                        Hi

I have here a Philips 47PFS7509/12 LCD TV which came to me with a weird problem : without signal i could access menu, make a factory reset, access menus, etc.
When i applied cable signal to check image, i had normal picture, but TV was restarting.
I downloaded original firmware and applied the update, but the problem remained.
From a colleague i received a "factory package software" which is a lot bigger.
I made another firmware update, but still did not solve the problem.
Somewhere on the way the error got worse, because at the moment the...

Philips 43PUS7506/12 - Loud blown out sound
                        by aidanmo
                        Hello,

I've got a really strange issue with the speakers on my Philips 43PUS7506/12. It makes this awful loud buzzing now. It happened after it was attempted to be wall mounted - I think the back got squeezed and something broke.
I thought maybe the speakers got damaged, so I replaced them - no dice.
                        • Using the internal speakers, it always happens.
                        • Using the headphone jack, it never happens.
                        • Using the digital/optical out with a soundbar - it happens after about 2h/movie runtime - it's never as drastic, it just pops in and out, but I didn't want it to damage the sound bar
                        ...

                        Hello Team,

New issue on LCD panel where I need to find out the cause and the potential solution.
This is on the Philips 50PUH6400, the LCD panel is an INNOLUX V500dk2 xrs1.

I have image, on the right side, the image is more or less normal even if there is a small blur on edge, on the left there is an issue.
When moving up and down in the menu on the right the image is slow to disappear, and is darker, like red/brown.

I've checked voltages, no issue found comparing right and left side of the panel driver.
