KDL40S4100 Screen dim, slow to refresh

I have repaired or replaced every board in this set..it was in a barn for a couple years...Screen is dimmer than usual and the left side is very slow to refresh. If I leave it on for over 30 min, I lose video..audio is fine..If I let it set for a couple hours..comes right back on. Is this related to the dreaded AS15 chip on the T-con or do you guys think the panel is toast?

Could be also a tab bond fault

If you changed the main board it will need a firmware update.

Its a tab bond issue. The screen is probably Samsung. Common symptom is darker screen and slow motion in 1/3 to 1/2 of the screen.

Took it down to the tubes..cleaned every ribbon and connection I could find..all tubes fire..did not get any reaction when applying pressure to tabs/panel at bond. Still slow to refresh on left side and overall not bright as it should be.
Aaarrgghh. If it's the panel, then I have a set full of components for sale.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
              by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
              by smic717394
              Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

              Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
              by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

HP x360 Chromebook 14A-CA, DA00GIMB6H0 REV:H, flooded, restored, slow and stuck in tablet mode
              by modtool
              Dear colleagues,
I've entered the repair of the chromebook machines just one month ago and I've found some significant differences from the classic laptops or macbooks, so I'm searching some advices.

The owner of this chromebook gave it to me after it has been left flooded by water for almost a week, so chances of repair were not so high, the mainboard was oxidyzed in many spots but I made a nice cleaning, resoldering and component replaging work and now it is almost working.

Among other things I've cleaned many spots from oxyds, reballed CPU, EMMC, EC, replaced...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
              by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...
