    Vizio E470VL tv problems

    I got this TV from my uncle, he said the TV started to have problems when the lights went off and on during a Thunderstorm, he said the tv wouldn't come on once that happen so he opened it up, looked around, and he didn't see anything suspicious, when he put the tv back together by surprise the tv started to work again, but after a few weeks it stopped working. Now i have it.

    Whenever I plug the tv in, the orange light on the Vizio logo would come on and when i press the power button on the tv, the white light on the Vizio logo would come on,
    But the tv wouldn't come on at all, now after turning it on and off a few times only the orange light will come on, the white light doesn't come on any more..

    Anyone know a fix for this issue? I will post pictures of the boards tomorrow. Board number 3647-0292-0150(3j)

    May be some one can tell you how to get to factory reset mode, I do not know the key combination on the remote to get into the factory setup page.

        How would that be possible if the tv doesn't display picture?

          Some TV when you put it into service mode, it will disable the error that shuts down the TV to let you look at the error data, unless the power supply, the main board, or the inverter board is completely dead then you will not see anything.
          You have the power supply-inverter board combo so you can at least the DCV on the connector of the power supply that goes to the main board to see what signals, or Voltages are missing, that will be my first step.

              "Dim 0.65
              Lamp 0.00
              On/Off 0.24"

              On/Off 0.24V: So the backlights ON/OFF signal is not present, <1VDC = OFF, >2.5VDC = ON. This signal is generated by the main board.

              Dimming control signals also very very low.

              LAMP 0.00: This one I do not know if 00V = good or = bad.

                        Can voltage regulators be An issue on this model? Can I test regulators on the board? What would the volts be for a healthy regulator on this board?

                          Also after doing readings on three surface mount fuses, I notice the orange logo would change to white all of a sudden, and I would hear crackling electric sounds Coming from the power board at random times whenever I turn the tv on.

                              I did another reading on the 12v, now it's 0.00,I'm still hearing cracking sounds on the power board, and now the Vizio logo stays on orange light.

                                I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                                Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                                I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                                The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                                With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                EDITED: I thought my Vizio E470VL has +5VSB and no 12v on the PS board, but after plugging the cable back in and testing the pins on the Main board I realized that I do have 12V. I assume the 12V is turned on when the ON/OFF switch is pressed. The Vizio light in front does go from Standby Orange to White when ON. But, I still have no picture or sound. Test values of PS board are below.

                                +5VSB= +5.09
                                12V= +12.18
                                PS_ON= +2.25
                                I_ON/OFF= +3.27

                                DIM= +2.97

                                Any more testing I can do on Main board or is it just a replacement?...

                                Would someone please help troubleshoot a Vizio 47" TV Switch Mode Power Supply with 5 volt output fluctuating voltage. The voltage fluctuates at 5 the volt output and at the Pulse Switch Modulating IC at VCC. I have the following notes:

                                1. The 3 main filter caps all have approximately 167 volts steady
                                2. I have replaced 4 mosfets next to what I think is called the inventor transformer (big black transformer) pictures attached
                                3. I have replaced Fuse F102 with an equivalent
                                4. I have check all diodes and caps and they seem to be ok
