    Sharp LC48LE551U

Hello everyone. Long time reader, but I think this is my first repair question. I've fixed about 12-14 TV's so far thanks to these forums as a hobby. So I have a weird main power board for a Sharp that I need some advice on.

The TV does not show any standby voltage when it's plugged in. This board has some weird names for the power connector that I don't know what it means (blu_on).

Anyway plugged in and off here are my voltages on the power board:
    Pin 10 - Dim2 - 0v
    Pin 9 - Dim1 - 0v
    Pin 8 - Blu_on - 0v
    Pin 7 - PS on - 0v
    Pin 6 - ground
    Pin 5 - ground
    Pin 4 - ground
    Pin 3 - 19v - 18.6
    Pin 2 - 19v - 18.6
    Pin 1 - 19v - 18.6

I'm GUESSING Blu_on is my 5v? What's that stand for?

    Here is a picture.

What do I test now? I haven't been able to locate the service manual yet. Thanks in advance for all your help.

    BLU = Backlights ON.
This LED Backlights TV may use 19V STBY.
Can we see the whole backside of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together?
Also need clearer pictures that are in focus.

Here is a photo. I'm trying to get this thing in focus. I need to wait until daylight to get some better lighting. If this used 19v standby then maybe the main is bad somewhere.

Sigh, another example of the "clone wars"; a Sharp branded TV that's not made by Sharp, but the lowest bidder in China.

Does that mean nobody can help? I could really use a little guidance as searching here for a similar design has turned up nothing and since I can't find the service manual.

Right now it points to the problem on the main board, it is not sending command signals to turn on the main power supply.
You can try and see if the main board has any fuses, 3-PIN Voltage regulators C that need to be check, also try disconnecting the cable to the T-CON board and see what happen.

Wow, thank you for the response. I though I was on my own. Anyway, there are no fuses or 3pin VR's on it. I disconnected the T-Con and nothing happened. I checked voltages on P_ON and BLU_ON while pressing power, nothing happened. I suppose it might be time to buy a new board, but I wish there were something else to check first. Any last ideas anyone?

like Budm says, sure looks like a mainboard issue, they can be a bear to trace down to component, a new board is probably the way to go.

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                  by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in
                  by sefoster
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

                  by SONY_E-WASTER
Hello, I'm new to this forum. I like to tinker with Sony electronics, I have been lucky trouble shooting sony stuff, But I can't find much info on this Sharp TV.

The problem; plug to power>white led power indicator light is on>it turns on to the red Sharp logo>
then the android logo is displayed, lit fine then the android logo brightness varies, then lit normal, then the tv restarts and does the same startup logos over and over for 5 times then it turns off and the power indicator light flashes the trouble code 3 long blinks plus 3 short blinks .

                  by gavenb
                  Hi folks!
I have a LC-80LE661U that had some interesting issues.
Initially, it would come on and show the sharp logo and would show normal static before shutting off.

I started troubleshooting by disconnecting the led lighting strips and turning it on. It would do the same thing - come on, show the sharp logo and shut off. After reading, it was suggested to replace the main board. That was replaced and the same symptoms resulted. After this and some reading, the parts cannon got loaded up. I replaced the power board, same issue. Replaced the Tcon board and now it...

(Weird) BIOS info for HP Pavilion Aero 13-be1021AU
                  by Loki_Fido
                  Hi folks,

This HP Pavilion Aero 13-be1021AU came to me for a repair. And it seems to have a weird BIOS chip. (Pic attached)
I asked my CH341A to read it and doesn't even know what to do with this. We are both very confused.

                  BIOS - XMC 25RU128CH10 (1.8v)

What the heck is this? I looked all over the MB. This is the only bios.
When I asked the NeoProgrammer to detect it, it just pops up an empty screen, and asked me to enter the bios number. And when I did, it doesn't do anything. NeoProgrammer showed me just this SPI ID: 204418. Don't know what...
