Vizio E422AR turns on, with V on screen than shuts off

I have picked this up really cheap and it seems like a corrupted EEPROM, but nobody sells an EEPROM for this TV.
When the TV is turned on, the Vizo logo in the bezel turns white, the V logo shows on the screen for a couple of seconds, than shuts off.
The only thing that I can do, is replace the mainboard?

was reading earlier, pretty sure it was about a vizio, where they shorted out 2 pins on eeprom, then went into service menu, and adjusted some settings, I'll see if I can find it again.

It would be nice, if it would be so simple.

I think I need to try something like this on this samsung, I think a surge messed up the firmware, naturally samsung dont have its firmware on their little site, plus I cant see the menu, screen is too snowy, unless its a component/s failure on mainboard.

Maybe there is something available, while the TV is connected to a network, but there is nothing for download.

There is a buzz on the power supply while it is on.
                      The voltages look OK.
The PS_ON is almost 0V, when it is on and 3.27V while in standby.
                      Both 12V are there.
I'm thinking that the EEPROM is the problem, since the PS_ON it's switching states.

If the V logo, shows on the screen for like ten seconds and than shuts down, it's 100% a main board issue?

humor me and disconnect the speakers from the mainboard and see what happens when it boots up. This was how I found out my JVC (Amtran) Vizio made LED panel had a pinched wire and the JVC logo would post then shut down once the mainboard initialized and shut down due to the short in the speaker leads.

Speakers were disconnected(they are on the back cover).
I have got another main board and the TV it's working great.
                              Thank you,

It will be the flash memory IC (EEPROM is a misnomer, but similar technology), probably failed because they write too much to it and data gets corrupted as the flash memory wears out.

                                        Most likely, you are right.
I'm dealing with Kenwood Nav unit's nand flash as well, which they get corrupted and they go in to a reboot loop cycle.
The only way to fix this, is to replace the nand flash(2GB).
Do you know, usually what is on these flash ICs? It is the firmware?

Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Vizio M60-C3 powers on, perfect logo, turns off. If you don't touch anything it will repeat this process by itself until it is unplugged. Not the "button board" since I disconnected the cables to the main board and the problem persisted. So I'm fairly positive something is going on with the main board, but want to know if there is a fix for this other than replacing the expensive mainboard, which may eventually have the same problem. Also, heat sink was hot as hell when this all started. Unplugged for a few days and same thing happens.

My kids are getting antsy waiting...

MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...
