Well, do the rework and find out, BTW, use regular solder no need for lead free.Never stop learning

thank you i never use lead free solder..i hate it
even though lead is bad for you i used solder with lead in it and i always have a fan on blowing fumes away.....i dont do much soldering so no big deal..if i did it for a living i would use lead free and get the right soldering iron ...mine is not powerful enough to melt lead solder.....Comment

hey budm i do have one more question about my samsung tv...its not a big deal to me but the display seems to have a glitch in it.....doesnt bother me but see photos..you can see blue colored blotches that are permanent and on the screen all the time.....when watching tv i really dont notice them much..only on white or light scenes.....see photos......any ideas what this is??

24 Hours should be long enough for the main filter to discharge but you can just put the dc meter on the two legs of the main filter cap to find out for sure.Never stop learning

so far tv working good....but i only use it for a little bit.....we will see if it continues to work.....because it was random cant tell if its good or not ....if it continues ok for couple weeks ill say its fixed.....thanks to everyone im here.....and youtube videoComment

bad news boys......tv was working great but i had no stand for it and was just balancing tv on table....it was ok...but last night i walked in dark and hit it..it fell over onto a damn screwdriver that was sitting on floor.....i made a tv stand at work for it today....very ironic.....its trash now....going to part out boards....very sad and unfortunateComment

no the blue blotches were not gone after i fixed the backlight issue as the blotches seems to be lcd panel issue.....so i guess even though the tv is scrap now ..it would have been hard to sell with the blotches...its prob worth more in parts now as all the boards work great.........
this is about the 3rd time i have broken an lcd tv due to neglect during repair...it sucks but thats how it goes sometimes...lcd tvs are very fragile....and sometimes i can be carelessComment

Hi all
I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.
Symptom:
No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
No sound at all.
What I tried:
1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon... -
Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol! 
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing... -
