I have the above listed TV and it is blowing the fuse that is right next to the power coming in on the power board. There are 12 47uf 50v capacitors that are bulging. I suspect that is the problem but I am new at this and don't want to put power to the board after I replace them and destroy the work I have put into it. Is there something else I can do. Thanks Mark

Re: Insignia NS PDP50HD 09 blowing fuse
I think there might be more wrong than bulging caps. Something might be shorted in the primary circuit. Start at the bridge rectifier and work your way through diodes and fets. If something tests short, take it out or lift one leg and measure again to confirm.

I'll look into making a dim light tester, thanks for the help. Iam going to research on how to check the bridge rectifier, diodes and fets. I'm familiar with diodes but the restis new. Thanks for some direction. MarkSuccessfully fixed: Sanyo 42" LCD, Sony 52" Bravia XBR9,

Re: Insignia NS PDP50HD 09 blowing fuse
Looks like the bridge rectifiers may be bad. I am getting readings in both directions, even when I reverse the leads on the DMV. The dc side of each rectifier is shorted. I didn't take them out of circut because I don't have a solder sucker. Would I be correct to say they are bad? If so where can I get them they are RS2505M. 2 each. Re: Insignia NS PDP50HD 09 blowing fuse
I replaced the 12 caps and plugged it into a dim bulb tester and the power relay kept clicking on and off (bulb blinked with the relay). I had a 40 watt bulb on it. I unpluged the connectors from the power board and the one that made the relay stop clicking was the bord that has the a/v hook-ups. There is still no dc voltage. But has AC throughout the hot side. Something is shorted I'm assuming that's why the bulb was blinking. The board P/N is. LJ44-00145B. 50WF3. I'm working on pics. Thanks MarkSuccessfully fixed: Sanyo 42" LCD, Sony 52" Bravia XBR9,

There is a dead short on the primary side with fuse blown. Nothing will work on the secondary's as long as the primary has a short. So... you got to the bridge rectifiers and checked them. So check the rest in the primary for shorts.
If you lets say just change the bridge rectifier and "missed" a shorted mosfet, the whole thing will blow again.
