Re: Panasonic TX-P42GT20E 3D , does not turn on!

What voltage you measure at pin 7(STB5V) of IC5482 and also what resistance you measure between pin 8(STB3.3V) of IC5482 and GND?

Ps , thats with a white screen!

"Edit" ---> Froze the board and plugged in the mains , ic5482 immediately starts defrosting while the other parts stay frozen! Think that this is our problem?

Can be. Do IC5482 feel hot when you touch against it? Probably, because it starts defrosting so fast. I don't know what the exact value for the resistance should be, but 200 ohm seem low. Remove L5481 and then measure the voltage and resistance again at pin 8(STB3.3V). Also freeze IC5482 again to see if it still stars defrosting so fast. Removing L5481 takes away all the loads from the STB3.3V supply

Re: Panasonic TX-P42GT20E 3D , does not turn on!

Its still defrosting fast after removing L5481 and now i have 160 ohm.

Pin 7 is still 4.6 volts.
Is there a similar IC like this that i can use? This IC is 40$ for me to order online , a new main board is 70$ :/

Remove C5497 and measure again the resistance and voltage at pin 8. C5497 might be short. If you still measure 0V and low resistance at pin 8 and the IC still defrosts fast or feel hot to the touch, then it's safe to say it's faulty. There no similar IC like that. At that price, you might as well get a new main board

When i remove C5497 , do i need to bridge the connection? Or just remove it only and leave it as it is?

Im measuring 3.1/3.2 volt on pin 8. Pin 7 measures 4.7v after removing C5497.

Tv does not turn on with D board connected to main board. , without D board i still get a white screen.

Also , looks like Pin 8 is slowly building up in volts. It starts on 3v ends on 3.26

Those caps are so small and can easily go missing, but C5497 was shorted anyway and was pulling the STB3.3V at pin 8 down. That's why you measured 0V and low resistance before at pin 8. Next is to solder L5481 back into the board and then measure the resistance again at pin 8

Hmm ok. Do i need L5481 to get the tv working?

                                    I measured again with the D board connected , i get 3.278v and 4.74v.

The STB3.3V supplies the processor that must switch the TV on with power and without L5481, the STB3.3V can't get to the processor. So yes you need it. Did you loose L5481 also?

When u plug in the cord the red led of one two second is on, then turn off. If you push the power button or the remote the red led blinks but nothing happen. I give u some photo with voltage, don’t look the fuse….because I blow it for mistake nd I dint have the right replace so I just put it for test the tv. The standby voltage should be 11,88 volt on the diode, but I have 13 volts. I put in the photo the different volts I test and there are someone negative…I don’t know if it s normal. On...

I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

Panasonic FZ-55 Toughbook main board schematic request
                                            by David Smedley
I've been working on this awful project with a Panasonic FZ-55, basically I'm trying to intercept the eDP signal from the main board, and replace it with my own eDP signal connected from an lcd driver. The problem is, for some reason the 30 pin ribbon pinout is really unusual and not playing nice with my LCD controller. Long story short, I managed to fuck up my board and pull off some pads on the eDP out port, I'm hoping to find either another eDP out source somewhere else on the laptop, or figure out this goddamn pin layout so I can just replace the whole native display complex with my controller...

                                            Panasonic Tx-P50G20B faulty main board
                                            by dgnisbet
I have a Panasonic viera plasma Tx-P50G20B which has a faulty main board. The picture freezes after about 30s and appears to lose vertical hold before finally going black. The main board part number - TNPH0838 (1) A - is common to several Panasonic tvs across a number of ranges however there is a second part number (TXN/A1LTUB for the 50") which is unique to each model.
My question is, given that the TX-P50G20B 50" differs from the TX-P46G20B 46" only in the physical size of the screen, is it possible to use the main board from the TX-P46G20B in a 50"? The secondary...

Panasonic TH-50PX80 killed by lightning strike, help me save her!

Yes it's a 17 year old Panasonic plasma!

I was watching TV when there was a huge lighting strike nearby my house that shook the house. When that happened, the picture on the TV froze and the TV wouldn't turn off except by pulling the power cable. Now if you plug in the TV, it seems to turn on (it makes the turn on "clikcs" it always does, the red power light comes on but there is no picture, although I can see the back light around the edges. And the TV doesn't respond to the power button on the remote to turn off, and doesn't respond to the manual power button on the front...
