what your trying to say is that i have the right voltages on the main board right? I could measure but I'm not sure if i need to measure it with or without the D board connected?

well all that D board needs is the stdby5v for it to operate and switch on the panel. I'm saying that you have a lot of useful information in that guide. the slides show you stdby5v goes in there and gets converted to 3.3v, powers the panel cpu which turns panel main-on firing the panel up

Re: Panasonic TX-P42GT20E 3D , does not turn on!

Thx for the help and explaining but I'm a bit confused right now. Forgive my ignorance but You say that the D board needs 5v to operate and switch on the panel. ( I see the 5v input and 3.3v output , i understand it also ). With the D board connected i get 5v on the P25 connector going to the D board but it does not power on.

Is this the conclusion that the D board is bad or is the problem still in the A board? Again i appreciate your help and i keep learning and learning.

Im thinking your answer will be something like. Connect D board to the main board and turn on the TV. D board is getting 5v but does not turn on the tv.
Measure the voltages on the D board using the schematics?

I measured and the only voltage i get on the D board is 5V.

If the D board does not work, no white pattern. It has to generate many control signals, very unlikely for that to work and other parts not work.

Re: Panasonic TX-P42GT20E 3D , does not turn on!

I though that maybe your STB5V was somehow being pulled down when the A and D boards was plugged in together, but it's not. From the repair guide that tw2005 posted:

The STB5V from the Power Supply is connected to the A and the D boards. During standby, this voltage is not used by the D board. In the A board, the STB5V is applied to a 3.3V regulator (IC5480) to generate the STB3.3V to power the MAIN MICON Genx8 (IC1100). The STB3.3V is also connected to the K board for remote control operation and to the power LED

The STB3.3V supplies the LED with power and IC1100 turns the LED on or off. The LED in your TV does not turn on. So measure the STB3.3V on your A board and if it's fine, then IC1100 is for some reason not working. It could have been toasted by the lightning strike

Hi Tom , Neelix , thx for the replies!

I received the D board today so when i get home i'll insert it and see what it does. I will also measure the 3.3v on that IC. Maybe i can fix this A board with the other A board? If i dont have the 3.3v , what part then needs replacing? Im willing to sacrifice the other A board for parts.

I'll print some parts of the schematic and measure first! Any help is apprecitated!

                    Guys i dont have IC5480?

Can it be that this model does not have that ic? Also checked the other mainboard..it does not have that ic?

Ps , new D board did not work , same issue! Hope someone can help me out. As i said im willing to use the other mainboard for parts

Maybe IC480, Panasonic prefix boards refdes with number, SC/SN for example is usually "1", "16" or "6", so Q16651 is actually Q651 (refer to D board print and part location table to be sure)

The number of the IC used in your model is different to the the number used in the repair guide. You must look for IC4582

On the other board its a different ic so i can't replace it right now. You suggest i replace that component for the tv to work again?

I give u some photo with voltage, don’t look the fuse….because I blow it for mistake nd I dint have the right replace so I just put it for test the tv. Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

Panasonic FZ-55 Toughbook main board schematic request
                                            by David Smedley
I've been working on this awful project with a Panasonic FZ-55, basically I'm trying to intercept the eDP signal from the main board, and replace it with my own eDP signal connected from an lcd driver. The problem is, for some reason the 30 pin ribbon pinout is really unusual and not playing nice with my LCD controller. Long story short, I managed to fuck up my board and pull off some pads on the eDP out port, I'm hoping to find either another eDP out source somewhere else on the laptop, or figure out this goddamn pin layout so I can just replace the whole native display complex with my controller...

                                            Panasonic Tx-P50G20B faulty main board
                                            by dgnisbet
I have a Panasonic viera plasma Tx-P50G20B which has a faulty main board. The picture freezes after about 30s and appears to lose vertical hold before finally going black. The main board part number - TNPH0838 (1) A - is common to several Panasonic tvs across a number of ranges however there is a second part number (TXN/A1LTUB for the 50") which is unique to each model.
My question is, given that the TX-P50G20B 50" differs from the TX-P46G20B 46" only in the physical size of the screen, is it possible to use the main board from the TX-P46G20B in a 50"? The secondary...

Yes it's a 17 year old Panasonic plasma!

I was watching TV when there was a huge lighting strike nearby my house that shook the house. When that happened, the picture on the TV froze and the TV wouldn't turn off except by pulling the power cable. Now if you plug in the TV, it seems to turn on (it makes the turn on "clikcs" it always does, the red power light comes on but there is no picture, although I can see the back light around the edges. And the TV doesn't respond to the power button on the remote to turn off, and doesn't respond to the manual power button on the front...
