The color might run out leaving you with a black and white picture.
Not really, there is no reason you can't mount it upside down, should be easy if you are using a wall mount

Lol, not an option guys! I like to do things the right way and this was going to be a freebie gift for a friend.

After taking to shop jimmy tech about it for about 30 min we have come to the conclusion that one of 2 things might have been the cause.

      1. The sticker on the mainboard was wrong and it was not the claimed revision as stamped (they said they have seen this in the past with Emerson/RCA)

      2. The mainboard was bad/EEPROM was scrambled.

Either way I am getting a full refund, SJ really took care of me and were pretty helpful along the way. Sucks that this Proscan couldnt be fixed, I have no idea what cause the original mainboard to go bad.

Thanks for the follow-up, and that is why SJ is my supplier for the boards I need, they have really good services.

You would need the service information to check if the OPTION BYTE settings are correct. If setting the Option Byte does not help, you would then have to go into 'Service Mode' by entering as suggested MENU>1>1>4>7, select Control>Config Option>HV FLIP. If it is ON put it to OFF and if it is OFF put it to ON. Then power cycle the TV (turn off the TV then turn it back on).
          Hope this helps.

That's funny...or you could just watch TV standing on your head.

I didn't see any option for this, I did see debug and advance debug but when I turned those options on I didn't see any new menu items open up.

The only option that I did see was LVDS odd/even, default was odd but if I put it to even the screen would go blank. I didn't save of turn it off on even due to fear I wonldnt be able to recover.

Nope don't do that. You will be unrecoverable. I'm betting on a revision change where they physically built the tv with the lcd upside down at some point using the same mainboard. if there's no option for it it's probably physically no Way to straighten it out
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Yea, I already pulled it and boxed it up. I will hang on to the tv for a bit but I am not to optimistic about finding a replacement if I have to match the numbers of the original.

                  Thanks everyone for the help/input.

Not at all. As with many things in life it is wise to know when to step back from something and move on.

I didn't give up without a fight, I spent 3 hours messing with every option in the SM, and nothing I did would change the screen orientation.

I spent another 2 hours with SJ with tech support, on-line chat and time on hold.
I will mess with it later on I just got a LG60PV450 today so this will be my time/money sink

I already have one but why not have two!

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                          by Ierwin
                          Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
                          by stylishconsultant
                          Hi All,

                          Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
                          by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                          Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                          First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
                          by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                          Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...
