Re: proscan pled3216a upside down picture (mainboard replaced)
If you look up the LCD panel model number to get the spec sheet, it may show one pin for the display orientation.
Does this new board have the same PCB assembly as printed on the barcode or on the sticker?
You may want to go to Shopjimmy to see which board is compatible with your chassis.Never stop learning

Re: proscan pled3216a upside down picture (mainboard replaced)
Mainboard was purchased from SJ, the panel number and board number match. Funny part the original board had a different number.
I tried to do a factory reset but I don't have the remote I think it requires a physical enter key not able to do so with the side buttons.Comment

Re: proscan pled3216a upside down picture (mainboard replaced)
They were closed when it came in. I will call them in the am and see.
This is strange, factory reset does nothing, seems like something in a service menu that might be able to change this but I cannot find any thing. Being that RCA makes proscan maybe the RCA service menu button access works on this unit.

I look at the spec sheet of your panel, there is no control pin for the picture orientation setting.Never stop learning

Re: proscan pled3216a upside down picture (mainboard replaced)
So it's all software then, wonder if there is a way to access the SM and change it.
I have never run into anything like this before.
Thank you budm for taking the time to research that.Last edited by Shinju; 12-19-2014, 11:31 PM.Comment

Boo, they are closed on Saturdays!
Oh well, if anyone knows how to access a Proscan service menu please chime in!
Seems this mainboard is used in several lower end brands, Westinghouse, RCA, Seiki, and a few others.Comment

Re: proscan pled3216a upside down picture (mainboard replaced)
Just got off the phone with SJ and they have no clue so they sent me a complimentary return refund instead of charging me shipping and a 20% restocking fee.
Guess this one is going to the recycler, I cannot find my version of the mainboard at all.
Mainboard Originally installed in the unit.

For other users that might run into this for future reference.
Bummer, first panel that I will be scrapping that doesn't have a busted screen.Comment

Re: proscan pled3216a upside down picture (mainboard replaced)
I was able to get in. But I don't see any setting for screen orientation. I did see an option for LVDS odd or even the panel set to ODD if I put it to even then the screen goes blank back light stays on.
I see some options for mirror mode, debugging and advance debugging but when turned on I don't see any extra screens I'm not sure how to access that stuff.Comment

Re: proscan pled3216a upside down picture (mainboard replaced)
Stupid suggestion, i know, but do you have any reason why you can't just mount the LCD upside down? It might take a bit of mechanical work to have it all fit correctly, but should be doable.Originally posted by PeteS in CARemember that by the time consequences of a short-sighted decision are experienced, the idiot who made the bad decision may have already been promoted or moved on to a better job at another company.Comment

by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
Hi All,
Need help.
I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.
So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard.... -

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... - Loading...
