You need to pay attention, I did say DC and earlier someone had also said AC for the mains and you had it set DC. Having meters set wrong can blow the meter and blow whatever you are measuring.

better get the MRS to push 1 now(joke)

last step and this is in that guide, unplug the tv(or turn mains off at wall) locate A1 and disconnect, plug TV in , mains on but not turn TV on, do the relays click? If No A board

look at page 33 in 2011 guide, not exact model but similar procedures and setup for this bit anyway.
i expect it will still be dead

Are there guides like that one you posted for all TVs?? That would be really helpful...

not all but a good selection for panasonic, tom has a sticky and links to his collection

Since it was a lightning hit, maybe take the A board and have a close look top and bottom. I have had lightning take out the HDMI and Tom just had one that was dead and on the back all the HDMI ports were destroyed. I think from memoryit shorted the analog ASIC ( custom ) IC that deals with the standby/startup voltages etc. I think IC5000 on yours. It;s possible something is killing the 3.3V which goes to the front LED and also the processor and other voltage which then activates the relays for about 15secs at plug in.

have a read, the guide gives a bit of a description. You need to identify the board and the revison to get the correct one for your model, manual should have the part number and also on the board.

If in doubt ask or confirm here, Moduslinkpts do repairs but you may find one fro Shopjimmy or Ebay etc, payless components.

My eyes are screaming for sleep.

                    Found an A-Board on Ebay..

                    http://www.ebay.com/itm/PANASONIC-TC...item2c906d42b9

That one is a TNPH0914 1A and then one in my set is a TNPH0914 2A..

Physically, they are almost identical.. An extra connector up by the A6 connector.. And 2 USB (??) on the side that mine doesn't have...

But all the connections seem to line up OK...

                    Think it will work???

No, you can't use the 42" A board in the 50" sets. Unless you're prepared to swap the panel control flash chip over.

                              Just an update on this...

A BadCaps user had turned me on to a set of parts for this TV with an A-Board I needed. Unknown operability so I picked up the lot for $25...

Got the part in and it turns out that the A-Board, the board I needed had the Button Connector ripped off.. I took the connector from the old board, had to rebuild a couple traces..

                              And.. VIOLA'!! It works!!!

Many thanx for all the assist....

Good News, thanks to these posts I have fixed my TV and I wanted to share how east it was. So I have a PANASONIC TC-P50S30. Reading on here about the bad ground with the burn marks I found a pretty bad one on the SS board so I cleaned all the screw mount with my dremal wire brush. It was so bad it melted the solder on the board so I added some new solder. Then I screwed them down good. TV still did not work. Nothing, no power, no light, no flashing and no power from the power board except the standby. I was about to give up, I was sure I had a bad main board ($100.00) But I decided to read more and someone said to check the buttons. Sure enough it was bad, these buttons are the cheap type they used to use in Atari joysticks, junk! So I used a screw to push the power button and presto, my TV works. Awesome. Just as simple as that? WOW! I say the power button is guaranteed to fail without a doubt because of its design so check it!

In the picture I provided you can see the power button is broken.

I could not find the button panel but I did find the SMD buttons on eBay.

Thank you everyone on Bad Caps, thank you so much!
I also got a big bruise on my leg today because another heavy TV fell on me.

yeah , that's a new one for a fault. Hope you paid attention to the SC board too then for burns, loose screws and bad earth. That's normally what blows and shorts out.

OH YEA! I checked under all the boards. Brushed them all up nice and clean. I only found the 1 spot under the top right side of the TV (SS Board) viewing it from the back with the cover off. Then I found the bad power button.

That wont happen on any Fluke or Agilent DMM. Nothing happens to any of the DMM's of these 2 brands, if the meter is set wrong on the dial. They also advertise that as one of the reasons.

Hello, got a ST50 plasma TV for repair. No signs of life, not even blink codes. Opened it up to check the power supply, type MPF6914. Apparent issues from visual detection and measuring for shorts:
                                          Diode type G972s6 - D101 with a short
                                          Mosfet 06N90E - Q301 shorted
                                          Fuse T5AH 250V - F103 blown
                                          Diode D301 shorted
                                          Relay DG1U-17VDC II - RL001 blown

I have not found a circuit diagram. Maybe someone here already dealt with a similar issue? Thanks for tips where else to check 😀...

                                          Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code

I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light

                                          Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                                          Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...
