Re: Samsung FP-5084 Plasma tv Power supply issues

I well take a look at the cooling the cpu (install a fan), but I don't think its the same issue.
It click like five times didn't turn the panel at all and a fuse i didn't check the first time was bad.
After I replaced the fuse the mosfet burned out on the board like the panasonics 50" had a issues with mosfet burning out which blows the fuse's.
So I'm thinking its the same issue.
I want to be sure there are no more shorts on the board and replace most of the cap with higher quality caps.
Maybe I well keep it for me and sell the two panasonics 50" not sure yeah.

TH-50PX80U and TH-50PZ85U are the two I have at home right now.

The 5084 was the flagship Samsung for 2007 and it was Samsung's first true 1080p plasma.

I would put it between the two pannys you have, the best being the Z85U (I have the 46" version of the Z85 and its great).

Personally the z85u is probably your best bet.

5084 makes a great video game panel though, I sold the one I fixed to a friend and he has been enjoying it!

            Tom66,
I have a question on the Dim-bulb Tester what type of bulb do I need? The stupid US government outlawed 100 watt light bulbs.

100W ideally !! 60W or 75W as second choice. You can usually buy 100W from eBay sellers.

I have a stockpile of 100W & 150W just for my dim bulb tester (LED lighting for actual house lights)

Yeah I well have to order them. I can only get 73watt bulbs now in stores which is stupid.

Well Got my parts in and board all back together the Samsung fired up. I test all power connections on the board they putting out what they should too. So one bad cap, two bad mosfet and two fuse's then Tv's back to life.:-) I'm learning a lot from this website and from members.
                  Thanks Tom66 and Shinju

Samsung Plasma TV Power Supply Issue
                      by lp20th
I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Samsung BN44-00262A H37F1-9SS power supply help finding blown value components!
                      by cheeky2
This Samsung combined power supply and inverter was replaced a while ago from a Samsung 37inch LE37B530P7W TV. However I would like to repair this one.
I have replaced the Mosfets Q1820 and Q1821 ( FDPF7N50U) which were both blown and the fuse FM802S. The schematic for this power supply that is attached doesn't relate to this power supply as the driving transistors and diodes are D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 are nowhere on the schematic!
Does anyone know what the components for D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 should be? I ask as I did change the Mosfets...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                      by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
