    Sony Bravia KDL-46S4100

My Son brought this set to me for fixing. After reading all there was on the internet . It needed a new a- board (main board). I ordered a exact matching number board . The set powers on now,but it is stuck in a test pattern that cycles. The remote only turns the set on or off. I checked Sony for a software download but it came up no software for this model. Is there somewhere I can get a complete firmware download for this set. Any help would be appreciated.

              Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46S4100

I have 2 main boards n 3 tcons, 2 of the tcons give me baclklight when bl-on is unplugged solid color and the 3rd tcon gives me what looks like the age pattern when bl-on is unplugged, but nothing on all three when bl-on is plugged in, not even a menu, so I guess I ether got 2 bad main boards or I need to restore the firmware, why sony has no firmware on their site for these is a mystery to me. checked all the plugs on g board, they seem good.

"Any one know if a upgrade for a kdl-46w4100 will work on my main board?" so did you use the kdl-46w4100 firmware (http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-...d#/downloadTab) or you found the 46s4100 firmware (not on SONY web site).
Do you have the link for download? Thanks.

some of the firmware is like impossible to find, anyone fixing tvs for a living, would be wise to download all the firmware they can, before they take it off their sites, had that whole conversation with samsung, they said they only go back three years, as a rule.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board

                                          Pin 02 NC
                                          Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                                          Pin 04 "N/C"
                                          Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                                          Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                                          Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Sony Bravia KDL-70W850B T-CON board / software update issue

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue before I give up on this TV.

In short, I replaced the T-CON board due to an error code indicating that was the problem, after which it flashed a green and orange LED meaning software update required. I cannot get the tv to do the required update via USB, so I am stuck.

Here is a rundown of the symptoms and the steps I have taken to troubleshoot:

I inherited the TV with the symptom that it would turn on, then turn off after 5-10 seconds and a red LED flashed 4 or 5 times. Sometimes it would be 4, sometimes...

Hi everyone, newcomer in this forum, i watched tons of video from Sorin, i like the way i calmly explain things, i did quite some console repair, i am not that bad at micro-soldering, but troubleshooting where the issue is, is definitely where i still have progress to make. Usually i was able to fix the console because the failure was obvious, or because i was able to find someone with similar measures on the board and was pinpointing what to replace that way.
Nevertheless, let's say, i don't come as a total beginner.
I have this old laptop, which suit perfectly my needs, with the...
