hello guys , need some help on this one , i started by going through the service flow chart , and i found a dead short on the SS board pin 1 , so i replaced it and it still acts the same , so i went through the power points on the pwb.main board and found i have no 13v for audio but do have 5v on stand by ... just some good clarification is what im looking for, this is my first set to work on and i have pretty good knowledge to complete repairs and changing chips or caps if need be , please help me so i dont buy the wrong crap

heat sinks on power board all are not getting hot besides on the 4th one left to right . ? this power board has a light on it too that is not illuminated .. anybody out there with knowledge on these sets DP42740 plasma 47" as stated i used the service manual and have 191v before shut down on SN board on left but have no voltage on digital board besides 5v standby and its 4.896vdc .. i cant determine if it the power smps board or the digital board .. anyone ?????!!!!!

I just replaced the SS board due to short to ground on TPVSUS pin 1 , and then today I replaced the power board thinking that was the issue due to no 13v on audio on digital main board . But as mentioned I have gone thru the service manual check points all the way to checking the resistance on C909& C959 and all seems good but when I do the smps check for voltages on p2 -p1- 191.0 when plugged in but bleeds down after some time . P6-p1,p2-15v on both p-7-p1-5v. P11-p1-p3-191.0v/15v . And.p25- p1,p2,p5,p9- 15v,15v, 5.0v,3.0v. And p35 both p1&2 55.0v witch mean power smps is good right ? What is the next step !!? Please help

Yeah good luck. There seem to be some knowledgeable guys up here but getting a response is slow and spotty. I've had guys ask for clarifications then disappear, etc. Not a quick moving forum it seems.

just sucks when you go thru all the steps post everything up like they request in the start thread, and you see more posts trying to get someone who didn't pay attention getting post after post coaxing the info out while guys who posted all the information the first time either get ignored or passed over. unno:

i think there is alot of people on here posting 24/7 and it prob gets overwhelming . but ive done everything to the T and i just need to be pointed in the right direction .. thanks for the comment !!

Well--We also have lives to live Outside of Badcaps--and have to find the time to repair sets too!

Thats a Panasonic Chassis, so best look out for the Panasonic Training Manuals from Tom's site and identify the exact model by board-numbers, and follow the fault condition flow-charts....

As a start, Unplug the two brow/white thick leads from each of the SC and SS boards, Measure the Resistance between the pins On Each Board.
My guess is, You'll find one short, as thats VERY common on the 2010-2011 series Pan chassis.......

I have followed the service manual , toms site is where I found the manual , I replaced the SS board that was shorted , and I just need some guidance far as where to go next , I have verified voltage on power board , have verified 191vdc before shut down on SN board , so the only one that is left is the digital main where the the rca hook up are . Correct ? If you have a pay pal account I can throw you some cash to for helping out ? Thanks in advance !

Well--Thanks for the offer--But we do this for the Love? of it, not profit!

It Could be the A board, but without further tests I wouldnt want to recommend spending out on one.
There's many things that could cause your present symptoms such as a faulty buffer-chip or one of the other voltage supply-rails not present, but being that this set is a 'bastard' son of Panasonic and Sanyo, I have no idea if it follows the normal 'Blink' SOS Codes that Panasonic use.....

update for those on here watching , go to http://www.toms-service-manuals.com/ and find your manual as per the RF receiver . the (cable jack) on the main board . now mine has J4HE and thats how you determine what board went with what frame from Panasonic. now with that being said the manual shows flow charts and I/O charts and great block diagrams . only thing that is shutting mine down is the power fail 1 off pin 48 on IC800 sub-cpu . well there are 4 possible problems , D1620- 3.3v , D1671-13v , D1660- 9.0v , D1681- 12V .. thats power fail 1 and if any of those voltages are not present when you press the power button the line goes low and shut off power within 3 sec.. so i have all voltages besides 13v for audio power , all else are present and accounted for . so my money is that the digital main board is bad , I cannot for the life of me find IC001 audio amp on my model to test cause that the only thing that would render power to audio ... so im just going to replace the board instead .. and its only 49$ so not too bad wish me luck and ill update as soon as get the board in
