Samsung LE37A656A1FXXC bad panel?

Hello!

Got this set from a friend and it has image issues.
Opened it, checked PowerBoard voltages, all OK.
Inverter 24V OK. 5V OK.
All voltages present Ok.
In some input's I got a normal image, but in antenna I've got a messed up image.
First picture, when in EXT1, menu image OK.
2nd one, when in EXT2, menu image OK.
3rd one, when in antenna, image NOK.
4th and 5th one, when scanning antenna signals, some "blurr" appears in the menu image.

If the screen was bad the menu would be bad but the menu looks fine so the screen and panel should be good. I think it's the main board

if it seems like the problem is only with the tuner part, can u just replace that?

What does the image look like with HDMI ect?

Gonna connect a HMDI source and take some pics!
This TV has a Power Board, i/O board, 100hz board and tCon board.
The culprit should be one of them...excluding the Power b0ard since all tensions presented OK...

Hello!

Well, I've got some inputs available and here are the results .

picture1- back of the lcd
picture2- hdmi input menu
picture3 - hdmi connected, no image just one line in the bottom.
When I select identify monitors on my laptop, I can see the 2 on the
LCD but no image, just that blurry line on the bottom
picture4 - ext1 by SCART connected in cable box TV. on the image of the start up of the cable box I can see some defects on the top of the image
(some weird black stripes)
picture5 - image on the cable box and I can see the image flickering and some blurry defects

Exluding power board and inverter, the culprit could be 100hz board or main...

Is it possible to troubleshoot these boards with MM?

Well I found a guy who is willing to sell me a new Mainboard and if it doesnt solve the issue with the LCD, he will refund.

What do you guys think?
Should I take this shot?

Can you get into the service menu, TV off, hit Mute,1,8,2 in that order then power on.

Try and find the menu option for test patterns, DDR pre/post, FRC pre/post ect ect.

DO NOT change any settings outside of the test patterns, all changes you make are set in stone and cannot be wiped with a factory reset. The only way to do so is to go back in and change them back. (write down any options before you change anything so you can change them back).

If these issues persist in the test patterns chances are its a bad panel. Do this before you swap the new mainboard in.

Well, I've done the Mute+1+8+2 sequency and without pressing Power after, the set blinks twice and turns on, but the only thing I get is this (see pic).

Have your HDMI device on and set the input on the tv to display that source then do the service menu and see.

Put TV on standby and then push in series these buttons on the remote: 'info, menu, mute, power' the TV will then turn itself on and display a menu

Ive done the Info+menu+mute+power sequency , got 4 blinks and the image turned on with the service menu for about 1 second and got back to those patterns like I posted on last photo.

Turned off. Tried again, 4 blinks and saw again the service menu 1 sec and image goes to that pattern :/ Damn.

not that i have experience here but that single line of static across the screen doesnt look too comforting :/

is there any input that it does look fine on?

Hello!

Well I've found out that there's only 1 input where I cant access the service menu after all.
If I'm on AV,HDMI,EXT or AV , I can see the menu!
I made a factory reset and no changes, as expected.

I cant find those test pattern DR pre/post, FRC pre/post Shinju talked about.
Here are some pics of the options I get.

2nd picture - option table (service)´
3rd picture - checksum

Could it stil be a bad pannel? Or should I order the Mainboard and test?

What was in the advance menu? BTW I think the menu system for Samsung outside of the US is not the same, as I have never seen a SM like yours before.

On option 4 Advanced menu I cant get into any options.
If I go to 1 I get into menu of picture 2.
In option 4 I press OK but I cant get any options beyond.

Press 0 four times on remote to access menu 4. Nothing much interesting there though.

Ok, so what should I do now?
I cant do those pattern tests, and I dont see much where to troubleshoot next.

Should I give up from this set ?
