Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
I was able to remove the protection of the backlight by shorting the pin 14 "Timer" of the chip U201 to ground as shown in the attached picture. Also you will see next to the chip a series of jumpers J213,J219,J209,J208,J212 & J211 each one for smalls caps or resistors and each has two small semi circles.
If you know the right combination you can match the settings of the ccfl according to the specifications of the protection by shorting some of those semi circles.
Be aware that removing the protection should be done only for testing purposes as if posses a serious fire hazard.

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
I called ccfl warehouse and they don't sell any other kind of bulb other then the regular probe ends. So basically I think I might be screwed on this one.Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
So I looked at the panel schematics under the inverter section and all the conditions the inverter needs to see to be functional are all present on the inverter when it's off. The only thing I can think of is somethig with those bulbs. But I just don't understand it and I don't know where to get any.Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
So I tried forcing the backlights on while the main was unplugged. I jumped 5v to ps on an 5v to bon and the back light lit up for 2 sec and then shut off. So I have no idea what to check next. Anybody got any input. Getting frustrated with this one.Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
No I haven't. I wasn't sure if I could do that or not cause the backlight gets 24v but does have a bl on. What would psu be. The power on circuit.Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
I have also tried wiring up another ccfl bulb and it does the same 2 sec to black. I have already swapped inverter boards so I don't think the problem is there. I also reflowed the solder joints at the bulbs on the side that solders to the copper line. All of the bulbs light up bright but then shut off after 2 secLeave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
Also what does the det pin on te inverter board do. Cause when the tv is in standby it reads 0v then when the tv turns on and back light is on it goes up to like 70v then turns off.Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
So I have dug this one out of the closet again and starting to work on it again. I figured I would go back to basics and check all my voltages. So every voltage checks out on my power board except the 32v pin. That goes to the main board. It reads .4v and when the set turns on creeps up to .7v before the set turns backlights off. I'm wondering if it's sensing it's not getting this voltage and shutting the back lamp down. I trie tracing it on the power board but don't seem to get anywhere. Here is te part number of te power board. 6ks01320a0Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
It's not to hard to replace the lamp you just have to take the screen out of the panel to access the bulbs underneath. But be very careful as u will have to lift up the lcd screen as to not crack it or let it flop so it doesn't crack.Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
So I bought a backlight inverter board cause it was cheap and it didn't fix it. I'm guessing its gonna be the bulb causing the issue so imma call up ccfl warehouse and see if they know what kind of bulb I need to get.Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
I've got the same set, with a VERY similar problem. Where did you get the lamp from and what is the model, or specifications of the lamp if I was looking for one?. Also, how difficult is it to replace the lamp?Last edited by Big Jugs; 10-08-2014, 07:31 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
I am not sure, it does not make sense with the old lamp it will work for 5 Minutes, but with the new lamp you get 2-second to black, got to be something it does not like with the new lamp.
Did you try putting the old lamp back in?Leave a comment:

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
OK, it uses CCFL:
3.7 Backlight Specification
The backlight unit contains 12 CCFLs (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp)

Re: Dynex lcd 2 sec to black issue
I wonder if your panel uses CCFL or EEFL lamp. Do you have the panel model number?

I am experiencing a BIOS-related issue with my Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100. When I power on the laptop, the screen stays black, and there is no response from the system. I suspect a corrupted BIOS.

by Ancient1Hi
Asking for a friend.
I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !
TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect
So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?
Thanks !... -
by ChIck3nSo I've had this monitor for probably a decade now, and it's finally starting to fail. Began with a little sporadic flickering, then eventually started going black (power LED stays blue, can still see image on screen with flashlight). A power on/off fixes it for a bit, but then it happens again. Once it got to the point I was dealing with this every few minutes, I opened it up and just replaced all the caps (minus the big one) on the power board with new Panasonic ones. All the old caps tested fine on an ESR meter, and this worked for 5 days. But the screen just went black again today, so...7 Photos

by StephenThis is not a flexgate issue.
The lcd turns on and functions fully and fine. When installing or even attempting to install an OS the screen goes black and doesn't turn on. We swapped the LCD with a testing LCD (that works) and it too is also black. After the computer cools down it turns back on and show the screen again and then it goes black when it gets hot. Sounds like a CPU issue to me (since these do not have their own dedicated GPU) but I may be wrong. Has anyone experienced this with this model? Battery is good btw. also I disconnected the battery and it still does the... -
by sgcampionHello,
Asus rog strix scar 17 G733QR
My Asus laptop started flickering from time to time and more and more in last months. First the screen was going black but sometimes if I moved the screen it would work again, other times I needed to plug/unplug the laptop or close and open the lid to make it work again.
In last days I see that if I move the laptop lid to about 45 degrees it will flicker or get white or black screen(it's random, sometimes white sometimes flickers etc). I was trying to troubleshoot it myself but seems like it's either the cable or the display....10-24-2023, 09:39 AM - Loading...
