    So add a jumper (short) the error detection test point to mounting screw? What was the first test point you had a triangle on in post #38 ?

        Ok, Shorted the "Error Detection" test point to mounting screw. TCON now has 19.x V and 12.6 V - Panel is not burning and not turning on - fuses on TCON intact -

                yes

                and the TV seems responsive to button and remote, I can hear the beeps when going to "home" screen .. turns on and off with remote.

                Only odd part is the white LED in front, has absolutely no activity (doesn't turn on)

                  do you have laser temperature measure tools or any....if yes.. try monitor the Temp on T-CON and screen corner .... try to put back the T-CON heat skin on.. and keep this configuration... to start with early talking hard reset. ... after u push the power and plug it in wall. count 16-15-1413-till 10 then release and wait 10-15 minute,,, it could reboot 2 time so eyes on screen if any change and your Optic Port

                        I do not unfortunately have an infrared temp device. I felt with my hand around the edges of the screen, and nothing is warm even. The main processor on TCON gets hot, but touchable.
                        I'll attempt the reset again.

                            On different LG T-CONs (OLEDs), the locations of the control points are different. You need to read the labels to find out where they are, and not just take a sample from one T-CON. Here is another example of where ERROR DETECTION is located!

                              And following this advice (photo), you short-circuited the "EVDD RESET" to ground!

                                    Yes, in order to prove something to you, you need to spend a lot of time and still prove nothing, just like with the amputation of the IR sensor output on MICOM.

                                          I attempted reset a couple of times. PS cycles few times while I am holding the power button. No activity on the front LED (No white /green / red/ blue)...after I release the power button the main board comes on (screen is lit) then 40 or so seconds later it reboots.. then back to main board on and screen is lit. I can hear the beeps when pressing remote buttons. So responsive just no picture

                                            Hello,

                                            I have problem with SONY 55X90J. After several check status is as below;
                                            1. Running power board as stand alone:

                                            TCON_12V =~ 12.6V
                                            EVDD V On Max 24V= 19V.

                                            2.
                                            Running power board with TCON as stand alone:

                                            Effect as below, attched.

                                            3. When bottom LVDS cable is disconnected no blinks, but of course no TCON 12V and EVDD.
                                            "I'm almost sure it's a defective panel, but maybe someone has encountered a similar issue on their screen.

                                            Best regards....

                                            Hi everyone! I am a new member and am new to electronics repair. I have a background in electrical engineering, but little experience in electronics.

                                            I have a Sony XR-77A80K which will not turn on and has 5 blinking red lights in the stand-by light. I had previously done a forced factory reset, which removed the error code, and the TV regained functionality for a few weeks. I repeated the factory reset and again regained functionality. This happened a few times until I so I had to begin troubleshooting the error.

                                            1) I noticed I was not getting...

                                            Hi everyone. First post on Badcaps!

                                            I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot....

                                            Hello, my Aunt recently gave me her broken Sony XBR-65A8G OLED after getting a replacement. It had a 4x led flash error, a replacement T-con didn't fix the error but with helpful info from this forum I found one of the smd ceramic caps on the panel pcb (C575/C378) on a 24v line was shorted to ground. I removed that cap and the tv turned on without error. It still had a black screen with the original t-con back in it, once I put the replacement t-con in it finally had a picture. After doing a panel refresh it had a very good picture but with a few vertical lines for some scenes. For owners with...
