    LE40R87BD restarting after 10 seconds

    Hi there,

I have the above TV with a IP231135A power board. The symptoms are that it powers on for about 10 seconds, the relay clicks back off and it restarts.

The capacitors all look OK and the voltages on the rails are as expected.

Can anyone advise on the next step?

    thanks

    Likely a main board issue.

I should have specified, in the brief time it's powered on, you can change channels, get into the menus etc.

Would that still point to a main board issue?

Yes, it has been seen before on this model. Sometimes you will also see graphical glitches on the screen. You might want to try turning off the READY mode in the service menu, sometimes that can help.

Thanks Tom. I am seeing graphical problems as well.

After having it completely dissembled and reassembled it does seem better, although I'm sure it's not a permanent fix. I did a factory reset from the service menu however both before and after, READY was already disabled. Could you please explain what that setting is?

          thanks

Some people have had luck reflowing the processor on these boards.
I am not sure what READY does but setting it on usually causes the TV to reboot every few minutes.

Re: LE40R87BD restarting after 10 seconds

Had a google and if you have READY on, it disables the DTV and Analogue, so I would have thought being off would have to be the default option.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was something like that on the main board. Basically this TV is an office one on 24/7. After I put it all back together and powered on from cold, it restarted twice and then seemed OK. On the first power on, there was corruption as you describe which then got better. I wouldn't expect this to last all that long, and if it goes again, I'll try a reflow.

Hello I have the same problem on my le40r87bd.

After I changed all the bad capacitors and reset the ic eeprom and after changed the eeprom with a new one I have the same graphical problem

Tv starts first time with graphical glitches see photo and about 2 -3 restarting the picture is getting better and after 2 min is perfectly fine.

Is this mean is the main board faulty any idea ?

Hello All, I have this same problem on a LE40R88BD, did anyone find a way to resolve this issue with the Graphical Glitches from the Main Board after Replacing Bad Caps on the power supply?
