Re: LE40R87BD restarting after 10 seconds
Had a google and if you have READY on, it disables the DTV and Analogue, so I would have thought being off would have to be the default option.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was something like that on the main board. Basically this TV is an office one on 24/7. After I put it all back together and powered on from cold, it restarted twice and then seemed OK. On the first power on, there was corruption as you describe which then got better. I wouldn't expect this to last all that long, and if it goes again, I'll try a reflow.

Re: LE40R87BD restarting after 10 seconds
Thanks Tom. I am seeing graphical problems as well.
After having it completely dissembled and reassembled it does seem better, although I'm sure it's not a permanent fix. I did a factory reset from the service menu however both before and after, READY was already disabled. Could you please explain what that setting is?
thanks

Re: LE40R87BD restarting after 10 seconds
I should have specified, in the brief time it's powered on, you can change channels, get into the menus etc.
Would that still point to a main board issue?

LE40R87BD restarting after 10 seconds
Hi there,
I have the above TV with a IP231135A power board. The symptoms are that it powers on for about 10 seconds, the relay clicks back off and it restarts.
The capacitors all look OK and the voltages on the rails are as expected.
Can anyone advise on the next step?
thanks

Re: Sanyo CE32FD90-B Good advert to quit smoking
Yeah you're right. It was tobacco all on the boards, but that part is rust. Coming off nicely with a dremel.
It's not 100% though as it seems to have a tab bond problem as well. Not sure if it could have been caused by that, but hopefully a shim will help after it's all cleaned up.
Not a pleasant fix this one...

Sanyo CE32FD90-B Good advert to quit smoking
Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but I thought some people might be interested.
Just picked up the above TV as non working. Backlight comes on but no output. Basically just cleaning and reseating the LVDS cable has fixed it.
I think it was caused by being in a heavy smoking household as there is what I presume is old tobacco (light brown dust/powder) all over the place and it stinks.
The worst of what I've found (and also I assuming from smoking) is this bit under the bezel
Glad I gave it up 5 years...

Re: Hisense 40K360MN no hdmi audio
If it's working from analogue sources but not digital, it's almost certainly going to be a main board problem I'd have thought. If you can get them cheap, I think you will be pretty safe just swapping them round.

Re: LG 32LD450 Flashing red light. Inc Schematic
All sorted!
I took the schematic and followed the PWR_ON circuit on the underneath of the main board (the replacement one I got working with a jumper). They have sold me a faulty one because there was a tiny transistor missing Q402 when I compared it with the original board.
It would be very difficult to knock out whilst removing the board, but I did notice that the connector housing for the cable from the PSU was facing up rather than a right angle on this one despite being the exact same model/date code...

Re: LG 32LD450 Flashing red light. Inc Schematic
Progress!
I've got the new board half working. If I jump PWR_ON to a 3.3v rail. I didn't realise I had to power it on with the soft power button as well
So 2 questions really. Firstly, is is there anything else I can check as to why this would be?
Alternatively, is there an issue with just soldering a bridge wire so it's always on? I understand it'll have more power running through the board, but without the screen on, does it really matter? The current will be really low won't it?...

Re: LG 32LD450 Flashing red light. Inc Schematic
I'll check when I'm back home.
One thing I did wonder is the inverter board seems to be part of the power board on this model as the backlight is fed directly from the power board. The other couple of TV's I've done all have them as a separate board. Could this have a bearing on that INV_ON pin which doesn't seem the be getting triggered?

Re: LG 32LD450 Flashing red light. Inc Schematic
Had a look round and still can't see any damage. The voltage IC's seem ok in that they are showing things like 3.3v, 2.5v etc but I'm not sure exactly how to check them more scientifically.
The main processor is getting pretty hot, nothing else though.
Is it time to just bite the bullet and get a new board?

Re: LG 32LD450 Flashing red light. Inc Schematic
Thanks very much for your help. I've got a pretty decent USB microscope so will get it under that tomorrow and report back.
I've found a replacement board on ebay for £29 which isn't too bad, I'd like to fix it at component level, if possible though!

Not much! 0v on standby and 37mv on power.Last edited by fruitbat04; 06-13-2014, 04:42 PM.
