Sorry, the laptop serial number is MP1YGF4K.
I note though that using a previous bios uploaded in this thread for someone else, I replaced the 128mb and 64mb bios's and the serial number within the Bios has not changed. Is this right?
Thank youLeave a comment:

Hi,
I have Thinkbook 14 G2 ITL. I have had a few issues with it and all was working for a while, until I upgraded the memory.
After upgrading, the screen no longer lights up or functions.
I have installed another bios from an earlier post and the laptop display now works however,
The battery charging is a little intermittant, I never had issues with the battery / charging until I changed out the bios.
Is someone able to repair my original bios please?
Both files attached.
Thank you...Leave a comment:

I cannot say for sure, I only know what I was told which is they removed the old ssd and inserted a new ssd. The fault then appeared.
Unfortunately I do not have the device anymore so cannot test any further. What would be interesting is to see if any contacts on the SSD socket are live with the system completely shutdown and the battery connected.
Can anybody here test this?
If this theory is true then it would be like removing and reinserting a screen cable as nowadays they are constant live too and easily shorted upon insertion.
Infact if you have this issue then...Leave a comment:

I have experienced a little more sinse my episode of this. I have had a couple of Lenovo Ideapads with not the same issue but similar symptoms. Both have happened after a SSD removal / exchange etc. It seems to me that on Lenovo you have to disconnect the battery before removing / inserting the SSD. Both Ideapads had blown EC chips then after replacing them they would shut off after windows had started etc.
Unfortunately I cannot give exact times in seconds on these however what I would say is you have to disconnect the battery on ANY Lenovo laptop before anything else like removing a SSD...Leave a comment:

My RTX 3070 showed an error in device manager (exclamation mark). I am not sure about the AMD graphics.
I will say though that removing US1 gave me more time, it increased from 34 seconds to about 103 seconds. Just remove US1 and if you get the extra time then replace the IC. They about $8 from Aliexpress.
I will also say that the coils on the VM for GPU gave very low readings in diode mode on my multimeter. Around 0.01 ohm if I remember correctly however this is normal for this device.
I hope this helps.

My issue was caused by changing the SSD without disconnecting the battery.
This caused an issue with US1.
The laptop would work fine for 34 seconds before turning off however the fans ran high.
To prove, remove US1 and turn the laptop on. Ensure you have the heatsync back in place.
Check how long the laptop stays on for, mine was just over 60 seconds. If this is the case, replace US1.

Leovo Thinkbook 14 G2 ITL - Charging issues
Hi,
I have 2 x Lenovo Thinkbook G2 ITL laptops. They seems to be identical specs, both 11th gen, 1135G7 cpu, both 12gb ram and both 256gb M.2 ssd.
I have ensured both have the same latest bios and ec firmware.
One of them works totally fine however the other has charging issues.
I have compared both motherboards in diode mode and cannot find much of a difference anywhere.
I have swapped the motherboards over to the other casings and the issue transfers.
It's behaviour is it will connect at 20v on USB-C and always start to charge.... -
Hi, I removed US1 because it is a sensor IC for the CPU according to the schematics. I noticed upon removal the laptop would stay on for 64 seconds instead of the 34 seconds with it installed. This made me think there was an issue with it therefore replaced it. After replacing it, the laptop worked totally fine. Tested under full load to and the temps got up to 89 degrees at a push....Leave a comment:
