Samsung LN32A330 dark ring around screen

So I fixed the tcon board on this tv i found off craigslist, and now notice a dark ring around the screen.

Im posting a pic of what it looks like. Its not bad, on white screen, but noticeable on darker screens. Is this an image burn-in, or a ccfl light getting ready to go? AKA is this going to get worse anytime soon, or just stay like this for a while?

Also if it is an image burn-in problem, would running one of those burn-in screen fixing videos work?

Or is this an inverter problem? Or is this even reparable?

    Thanks in advanced.

Looks to be something to do with the diffuser....

How would one go about changing one of those?
      Is that a replaceable part?

It's a part of the LCD panel itself. Replaceable yes, but a huge pain in the rear.

        A working TV? How boring!

I have a 26 inch Sony with this problem, it's barely noticeable but of course I spotted it on dark scene and now see it easily. In all other respects the picture is perfect, and the effect is hard to see if you are in direct line of sight. I've concluded a diffuser problem as well. But where can you obtain these other than from a scrap panel?

By the way the panel in my Sony is manufactured by AU Optronics, I wonder if this is a common problem, I know Samsung (and others) use various panels in small to medium screen models.

I'm reluctant to strip mine down on this occasion since it's really not that bad.

Dang....ok so next question. Is this going to get worse until i have no picture at all, or is this the extent of it?

I can't see the damn thing! However it may be that the diffuser has come loose from whatever means they use to secure itin place and is scattering light unevenly. My guess would be you could just resecure it but getting to the thing is the hardest part of course.

Oh I see it now - around the edge of the panel. I'm sure if you tore it down you would see what was causing it. Good luck.
