Vizio XVT553SV Blinking LED and Won't Come Up Problem

    Hi,

Last night, I was using my XVT553SV HDMI input to watch video. Then suddenly it turned off and Orange Vizio LED was lid (normally white when it's running).

It then started to blink Orange / White for 20 seconds -> Turn to Solid White for 5 seconds with Blink screen ( I think this is when the screen is suppose to turns on with the V logo on the screen) -> Turn back to Orange for 3 seconds -> blink Orange /White for 20 seconds -> Repeat....

I tried to unplug the power and press the Jog button for 30 seconds. I tried to unplug the TV for 8 hours. Same thing when I plug the power back.

Could this be the mainboard ? I don't want to blindly exchange boards.

SHOPJIMMY is pretty good about telling you what the suspect board will be, I do not see they offer EEPROM for the set so it may not be EEPROM problem, I would contact them to see what they say.

Re: Vizio XVT553SV Blinking LED and Won't Come Up Problem

I have the same problem. Flashing white then flashing amber VIZIO in a continuous loop and back screen.

          I have 5 V at CN202 PIN 1, 2, & 3; 0 V on Pin 11, which is the REMOTE ON/OFF; 0 V on Pin 8 which is the +12 V.

Does this indicate the main board may have a problem and it's not turning on the + 12 V because the REMOTE ON/OFF is low at 0 V?

Are any more tests indicated before I order a main board?

          Thanks,
          Wayne

So the REMOTE_ON/OFF pin does not change state when TV is turned on and off? If that is the case, the main board is not working. You can force that pin HIGH by using external 3V feeding through 100~500 Ohms resistor, but you will have to cut that remote wire first, just cut it so you can splice it back together or try removing the pin.
Also try disconnecting cable to the T-CON board.

The power supply board no load voltages look good, REMOTE_ON/OFF pin at 3V turns on 12V output pin, all other voltages are OK.

Would the next step be replacing the Main Board (3655-0122-0150)? All suppliers that I can find are out of stock, except koshevo on ebay. They require the old board be evaluated for reparability before a repaired board is sent, $160. I would like to find a supplier who will send a good board before I send in my old one. The price for PS, T-CON & MAIN is over $300.

Can anyone post a link to a supplier who has the Main Board (3655-0122-0150) in stock?

The other option is to have Vizio service do the repair for $300 with a 6 month warrantee. Which may not be possible if the main board is lost in the mail.

                    Thank you,
                    Wayne
