    Westinghouse VK40F580D

Hello, I've had this TV for nearly seven years now and a couple days ago in the middle of a program the picture all of a sudden changed in that I can now see some vertical lines that are seemingly overlaid. In addition, when solid lettering such as an advertisement has been shown, in many cases I notice it still in the background and slowly it will fade away. I also managed to catch a photo of a "halo" around the perimeter that seems to be omnipresent at varying degrees. I realize this is an older unit and newer, better ones are available but if it's a minor fix I'd like to try it first. I've attached some of the best screen pics I was able to capture that illustrate the problem. Thanks!

Well 37 people have read it - 24 hours is not a long time if no-one knows the answer.
What research have you done? Taken the back off? Tested anything?
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

i'v seen this type of effect - kind of like a memory effect.

i'v never tried to fix it, but i bet it's a voltage issue on the panel related to lcd bias.

Thanks for your input. While I'm comfortable with most technology, TV's are not something I regularly work on. I have not taken the back off or conducted any tests as yet. I've done some research but was hoping someone may recognize this as a correctable problem and provide a solution. I know that's asking a lot but I thought it might be worth a try. I'm not against performing some investigative test but really don't know where to start and would appreciate any input from those of you who may want to provide it. Thanks.

            Westinghouse W55UW4620 No Video
            by Nicktronic
Ok, so I know I know, it's a Westinghouse....lol It's got the backlights but no video. Likely the panel, but I'd like to take some measurements on the buffer board with help from you experts to confirm. See the attached pictures. In pic #1, there's a nice pin reference to use to take some measurements. The large IC in pic #7 gets up to 60degC when the TV is on.

So, backlights, no video, go! 🙂...

Help Request - Westinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105)
            by EBW
Westinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105) . Originally stuck on logo with no response from remote and no firmware file available to flash via USB. Westinghouse Support stated it would require service but that wasn't a cost effective option. I used dental floss to remove the motherboard processor heatsink to identify what make it was (Mstar). Unfortunately that knowledge didn't help with a solution. After the heatsink removal it only displayed a completely white screen. I then decided to replace the motherboard with a universal 3-in-1 board but the white screen problem continued. This...

Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply
            by Seville
            Hello all!

Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply .

I have a Westinghouse LED TV, model WD48FAB100 that is not powering on. Upon removing the back cover, I noticed a burn mark where the AC cord connects to the power supply/main board. In this model, there is only one board combining the two functions. Previous owner said the TV experienced a lightening strike, but who knows. I checked the main fuse, tested OK. Here are a collection of readings from the power supply ports. Looking for some guidance on what to test/check next....

Hi All... Me again. Begging for help. The guy who now believes it's possible to fix a TV (one of the millions) one can find on the streets of NYC. I hate hate hate waste...

Thanks to y'all's help I fixed and am happily watching a 70inch Sharp Aquos. Perfect. Learned a lot, replaced LEDs. Pulled screen/panel. Proud.

This is a newer set. It's a Westinghouse Roku WR58UX4019. It was RIGHT outside my place literally, and I couldn't resist. 58in. 500$ new, but I'm not a rich man. So, I want to try.

There is sound. It turns off and on. Screen is black. I can...

Westinghouse DWM40F1G1 backlight blinks and turns off
            by flashcoder
            Hello,
I got this TV (Westinghouse DWM40F1G1) that did not came on one day, blinked for a split second and turned off. I looked at it closer with flashlight and figured that the TV actually works, its just the backlight that does not.
There is one PCB board - all of the components are on it: TP.MS3393.P85

I took my oscilloscope and looked what is coming to the MOSFET that is switching current to LEDs - I could see that the PWM signal comes in but it cuts off almost instantly. I thought its the driver chip OB3350CP and so I replaced it.

            After that the...
