Thanks! At least there's an alternative. I'll give those a try.

Re: Macbook Pro disk repair problems
That's what I thought too but there is literally no other issues present. Also, it does complete the repair process when booted in safe. I'm no expert but couldn't this indicate a software issue?
Really don't want to go through all that until I've exhausted all other possibilities. Any other suggestions?

Macbook Pro disk repair problems
After starting normally I've tried to verify my disk and keep getting the following message:
"This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility."
When I do complete this function then I restart normally and try to re-verify the disk and get the same message again?
Can someone help me with this, I'd really like to get this thing repaired. It doesn't seem to be hampering performance...

Re: Westinghouse VK40F580D
Thanks for your input. While I'm comfortable with most technology, TV's are not something I regularly work on. I have not taken the back off or conducted any tests as yet. I've done some research but was hoping someone may recognize this as a correctable problem and provide a solution. I know that's asking a lot but I thought it might be worth a try. I'm not against performing some investigative test but really don't know where to start and would appreciate any input from those of you who may want to provide it. Thanks.

Westinghouse VK40F580D
Hello, I've had this TV for nearly seven years now and a couple days ago in the middle of a program the picture all of a sudden changed in that I can now see some vertical lines that are seemingly overlaid. In addition, when solid lettering such as an advertisement has been shown, in many cases I notice it still in the background and slowly it will fade away. I also managed to catch a photo of a "halo" around the perimeter that seems to be omnipresent at varying degrees. I realize this is an older unit and newer, better ones are available but if it's a minor fix I'd like to try it first....
