    Westinghouse Roku WR58UX4019.To be or not TV,,, That is the Question

    Hi All... Me again. Begging for help. The guy who now believes it's possible to fix a TV (one of the millions) one can find on the streets of NYC. I hate hate hate waste...

    Thanks to y'all's help I fixed and am happily watching a 70inch Sharp Aquos. Perfect. Learned a lot, replaced LEDs. Pulled screen/panel. Proud.

    This is a newer set. It's a Westinghouse Roku WR58UX4019. It was RIGHT outside my place literally, and I couldn't resist. 58in. 500$ new, but I'm not a rich man. So, I want to try.

    There is sound. It turns off and on. Screen is black. I can hear the Roku clicks (I have no remote). There appear to be (what look like) two "stains" on the bottom L and R corners. Maybe water as it rained today. Backlights seeeeem to be lit.

    As it is now (see photos) there are horizontal very skinny lines green and blue along the very bottom, maybe a 1/16 of an inch. Then, in the center there is a "chunk" of horizontal lines about 4 inches across that rise vertically about 5 inches.

    I may be that what I AM seeing (the lines I described above) are just a matter of it being wet and this may get better if I allow it to dry - with help?

    Any ideas? Should I go ahead and pull the back off and start checking the ribbons?

    Anyways. I am all ears and thank you MUCH, in advance.

      Ok. So I removed the back of the set and found significant water pooled around the ribbons that feed the panel along the bottom. I'd better plug in a fan,,, and report back. May just be sound with NO image...

      In the mean time I am still SUPER open to guidance, advice and suggestions... And,,, very very grateful. Thanks in advance.

          Am I toast?

          I don't know if the panel has clips that would allow me to repair this....? From what I can see it 1 of 12 that have a problem...

              Not sure what I'm seeing, but if that is damaged, you are screwed.

                  I guess that's that. Silly me. I didn't know (what I don't know could fill a small sea) that the panel was ONLY held on by a small strip of two sided tape. I'd removed the bezel and left a fan in it over night. Even with the circuit strip (photoed above) in the condition it was in, alllll the lines seemed to be disappearing as it dried. My dumb *** was getting hopeful. I went to bed.

                  Woke up in the AM to find that the tape had failed and the damn panel fell forward and CRACKED... That's all she wrote. What's a new panel cost and,,,, can they be had?

                  What do you suggest? Other than I have my head examined...

                      Consider it a learning experience. Plenty more broken tv's out there.

                          Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                          Hi all
                          I have lines on the screen...which is an age old problem that can be remedied by watching Youtube videos and getting out the tape.
                          My issue (after successfully fixing a different sammy tv with a separate tcon board and isolating the side of the panel...):

                          This tv has an integrated tcon...so it is a bit more confusing when trying to isolate the clocks.
                          It has a c ribbon and i have taken each end out to see if that will isolate the lines. instead, it makes it much worse ALL over the tv!

                          So....i don't know what end of the C ribbon to work with...

                          Hello,

                          First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

                          I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

                          I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

                          I'm no expert but I've done the tape...

                          All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                          • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                          • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

                          First. it has no picture at all. i solved it by covering the ckv lines using tape to to block the connections

                          Second. now has picture but with vertical lines that follow the image. tcon board ic overheating

                          tried blocking LC lines too, but same results



                          is it lcd panel issue or tcon board issue?...
