Re: LG 50PA5500 Plasma - No picture then no sound
the only thing I can think of is if you have power supply voltages coming up check out the buffer boards for shorts and look at the very top y ribbon cable going into the panel for a crack from a known defect in the plastic casing rubbing against the ribbon cable easiest way is to remove the upper buffer board and power of the TV and if you get a grey screen on the bottom then your boards and power supply are workingDid I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: LG 50PA5500 Plasma - No picture then no sound
Yes, it's green and has a few orange flexible ribbons coming out of it, going into the panel.
One test you can do is to unplug the upper buffer from the Y-sus (you can leave orange ribbons connected.) You will need to remove the screws then gently slide it out.
When you power the TV on if the bottom half works ok you probably have this problem with the panel. AFAIK no one has yet fixed it, the TV is scrap (unfortunately.)Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Not that common but do recall one user having such an issue with a 42PA4500. Also affects 60" models. Seems 50" is worst affected - may have just been because they sold a lot of them...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 50PA5500 Plasma - No picture then no sound
You replaced the ps board and still don't get vs or va? Where did you get the board?
With my 51" samsung plasma I had a bad ps board and a bad y sus board. With nothing plugged into the ps, and when applying power to the ps, the relay would click, then full power would appear at vs and va. then they would turn off right away.
When y sustain board was plugged in I would get no Vs. I checked and Vs showed short on the y board. I started finding a lot of shorted parts on the y board. I checked for shorts on the y buffer board and found none. It was cheaper to replace the y board than to change all the components that were bad. It's working now.Comment

Re: LG 50PA5500 Plasma - No picture then no sound
If you disconnect both Y-buffers does the clicking subside? The clicking is not normal, a gentle buzz is all that is expected. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by KYBOSHPicked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.
When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on... -

I'm new, and having much the same problem. My LG50PA5500 TV has been working flawlessly since new. The other day, while in the midst of watching a broadcast DTV channel, the entire screen suddenly and silently went dark (no snaps, crackles or pops); sound, channel selection and inputs all work OK.
I have checked connections and voltages from: stdby, pwr supply board fuses, psb output voltages to Zsus board and its fuse, output voltages from Zsus to Ysus and its fuse. All precisely normal!! I've also checked voltages to the...06-19-2021, 06:36 PM -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... - Loading...
