Re: LG 50PA5500 Plasma - No picture then no sound
the only thing I can think of is if you have power supply voltages coming up check out the buffer boards for shorts and look at the very top y ribbon cable going into the panel for a crack from a known defect in the plastic casing rubbing against the ribbon cable easiest way is to remove the upper buffer board and power of the TV and if you get a grey screen on the bottom then your boards and power supply are workingLeave a comment:

I replaced the cap, but it still did not work. The voltage readings are exactly the same.
What's next? New power board?Leave a comment:

If you have the same symptom chances are that cap will fix the issue.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PA5500 Plasma - No picture then no sound
I have had 50pa4500 (same power supply) with no vs voltage. I replaced the power supply, but it looks like shopjimmy has a repair kit now for this board as well. If the tv turns on, and doesn't shut back off right away? Maybe this repair kit can fix the no vs issue. I've had probably 5 of these come through with bad upper buffer board from a shorted panel ribbon, but all of those still had proper vs and va voltages.Leave a comment:

Uh- huh. Check out the thread for the lgpa504500 started by brentsky. That's what I'm working on. Very similar set, same psu... You have gone down a slightly different path in the troubleshooting but...
I haven't done any extensive testing yet, hoping for the 'quick fix' based on the information from that thread.Leave a comment:

When turning the power on
Vs goes from 002 to 014
Va goes from 001 to 008Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PA5500 Plasma - No picture then no sound
Can you check and see if those go up to about 200V and 55V each when first powered up then drop down, or if they are always that low.Leave a comment:

by KYBOSHPicked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.
When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on... -

I'm new, and having much the same problem. My LG50PA5500 TV has been working flawlessly since new. The other day, while in the midst of watching a broadcast DTV channel, the entire screen suddenly and silently went dark (no snaps, crackles or pops); sound, channel selection and inputs all work OK.
I have checked connections and voltages from: stdby, pwr supply board fuses, psb output voltages to Zsus board and its fuse, output voltages from Zsus to Ysus and its fuse. All precisely normal!! I've also checked voltages to the...06-19-2021, 06:36 PM -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture

- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... - Loading...
