    Re: LG 47LN5400 Problems

The way the banks work, the R1 Will need the L1 connected to complete the circuit on it to test. that's why testing the L works and not the R as you see at the end of the R the circuit is open waiting for the L connection. You can either place a known working L strip on the end of the R strip you wish to test or jump the end of the R strip. I can post a picture of my bad strip tonight when i get home. it was a yellow brown burn mark right beside one of the black dots it was super easy to identify as a burn.

Just make sure your 12v supply is constant current, and not too high either. Judging by your success on already lighting a L strip and not burning the leds id say you have it set correctly so don't change it.

I am pretty surprised you have more then one bad led.

Wont lie either, I don't miss looking at the inside of that damn tv. what a nightmare it was sourcing those led strips in working condition.

For my own curiosity, the strips you found bad leds on. did the others that were good light or did the whole strip fail to light and your assuming they are bad due to visual inspection as i did?

The who strips on the L side that have bad leds. Were they connected to the R banks that have the dust/ scorch marks on them. I still am not sure if that's dust or burn marks but would explain the L failures of the R side was the first in the chain to go. Testing the Rs should be your next step to identify all bad strips. Should be able to do so with my suggestions in the above post.
