Re: Vizio SV470M IR sensor problem

Well, writing to a new EEPROM fixed my buttons but the remote still does not work and I have no sound. Also I think I need to start freezing the bad EEPROM before copying them, something I have never done before. That freeze spray is around $18 a can

I been so busy I have not had time to play around with this TV but when I get a chance I will try everything, even replacing the CPU. At least we might not what the cause is.

Use canned air duster upside down for cooling.

The canned air duster is cheaper but the lowest I can find is $7.00 a can. I did order the freeze spray for $17.00 and it will be delivered today.

Looks like I made a spelling error in my last post and did not catch it in time to correct it. "At least we might not what the cause is." Was suppose to say "At least we might know what the cause is."

It would be cool if I used the AC unit to freeze the EEPROMs, I could make an apparatus to sit on the cooling coil like with a IC clip or something and the copy the EEPROM, just a thought and I would not have to keep buying spray.

Perhaps something like a peltier device. Never done it but they cool one side and heat the other side.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

That sounds like a perfect idea. $1.50 on eBay. Now that is the least expensive method so far. I just searched online and it actually freezes. Someone said they had there's at -15 degrees. The cooler you keep the hot side the colder the cold side will get. This is fantastic.

I got my can of free spray delivered, it says on the can "up to -65 degrees" I better not miss and get it on my skin.

AcuRite 5 in 1 temperature sensor replacement repair
              by CapLeaker
              Got a new victim:

AcuRite 5 in 1 Iris outdoor weather station not updating the temperature / humidity anymore. The original sensor is a SHT21. Also there are identical other sensor manufacturers. I chose the HTU21D to replace the original SHT21. Both have identical specs. I've had two failure modes with these sensors.
A: outside temp stuck at -40? It's cold here at times in Canada, but not that cold!
B: stuck at some temperature and maybe updating once in 12 hrs or so.

Easy solution is to go to AcuRite website and purchase the sensor. Right?...

No Power problem with Vizio E60-E3
              by rajbot
              Hi all:

I have a Vizio E60-E3 I am trying to troubleshoot a no power problem with. Thanks to the help on this board and elsewhere, I was pretty sure I had narrowed it to a power board problem. The board in question is a 09-60CAP0D0-00. Image attached for reference, but not of my board (tv is put away at the moment). FWIW, no obvious looking issues with the board.

I measured voltage at power in and on the fuse and saw 120V, so power is getting to the board.

On the pins out to the main board, I got no voltage at all on any of the pins. I assumed this...

              Hisense 65R6107 remote sensor
              by Jackching
Does anyone know if there is a repair for the remote sensors for these televisions? It only seems to work when it wants to. I tried a different remote and also tried factory resetting the TV. I find if i go close to the sensor that it'll work but outside 2 feet it wont.

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
              by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
              1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
              2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
              3. Problem: TV shuts down

              Thinkpad X1 Carbon "LMQ-1MB 12298-2 48.4LY26.021" VCC3M problem
              by Zeonalbasta
              i have a problem with thinkpad X1 carbon gen 2 "LMQ-1MB 12298-2 48.4LY26.021"
The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double...
