    Samsung ua40es6200 TV no display

    Hi,

Got a Samsung TV that has no display. Did a bit of troubleshooting.

When I first got the TV, it worked, about 2 years ago. Left it in the garage, and now it has 5 blinks of the power light.

I unplugged the main board from the power board and the display blinks for less than a second constantly. Almost as if it's trying to power up but can't.

Anyway I tested the fuse and there was 0 displaying on the multi meter.

Now the 5 lights have suddenly vanished. No idea why.

Here are the boards (Bit of an odd model I think?)

I see no visible damage to anything.

    Thanks

First, you need to indicate the TV model, motherboard and power supply numbers.
Secondly, where will you get five blinks of the standby LED if you disconnected the motherboard from the power supply?

      It's a Samsung ua40es6200

      Power supply is a BN44-00518C

The 5 blinks happened when I plugged power in initially. The standby light blinked 5 times. Other posts seem to suggest that is just a power on light and doesn't mean anything specific.

A bit of common sense would be to download the service manual for the TV! A quick google will show a free download for it here https://elektrotanya.com/samsung_un4.../download.html
Then start reading and checking for voltages on your power supply, ensuring that you are fully aware of the risks when working with mains voltages! If you are not then leave it to someone who does.

Thanks. I am still very new to all this and have been shocked before by DC voltages and in general just don't like electricity.
That being said, I am trying to learn electronics.

Can this be narrowed down to the power supply though or could it also be something else? I could replace the whole board if I find another one?

IM not a tv repair engineer but if you have a service manual as said you could test the voltages. This link satells you samsung error codes: https://9meters.com/technology/tv/sa...-and-solutions

Ok cool thanks, will investigate a bit further. Not keen on testing voltages but have an electrician friend who can maybe do it and teach me at the same time

Need to start someplace, try testing the diodes and resistors on top of the board, can also check the soldering on underside of board, search for images of bad solder joints if needed. Youtube is your friend for how to videos, also some troubleshooting voltages here. Heed the HIGH VOLTAGE warnings the /primary/hot side can be deadly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbcCVv_ahBo

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                      by PantherDave
                      Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                      Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

                      Dear All,
Please really2 need Help on this Acer A515-52G Motherboard Compal EH5AW LA-G521P Rev: 1A.
At first this laptop can on, keyboard light on but no display. Open the motherboard, found out the PQZ3 Mosfet and PUZ3 ic near it burn. Refer picture below. Then I replaced both. All the power rail 3.3,5,1.2, 1.35, 0.8V have power back after i turn on the laptop except for the VCC_GT rail. Voltage at Power Supply showing 0.000A before turn on, after turn on it became 0.5 0.6A. Seem cannot boot and still no display. Then I replaced the PUG1 and mosfet, but the VCC_GT still no power....
