Guys, I know this 10 blink issue has been discussed to death but I have come across an issue causing a 10 blink I have not seen discussed before. After looking at all the posts and fixes related to the different items i.e. power board, sd card slot, main board, non of these items where causing the 10 blink issue. I verified with working boards from another fully functioning TV. The issue causing the 10 blink on this TV was the connection to the lower buffer board specifically CB1 on the C1 board. Took a lot of tests to determine this as I wanted to know what the cause was. So with the CB1 tab disconnected the picture works and just that strip from top to bottom is dark with some pixelation going on but when connected the TV instantly shuts down with the 10 blink after power on. Question is, has anyone else run into this and could it be the buffer board or the screen. I had to assemble and move the other TV on so no more good boards readily available to test with so do I purchase a new C board or chalk it up to a bad panel?

Re: TH-42PZ80U - 10 blink
Hmm, that is a rare one.
Shorted panels do sadly happen, but they are rare on PZ80s.
The typical fault is a 5 blink code indicating a short in 5V. However if Vda is shorted, the TV will shut down Vda+Vsus and fire an erroneous 2 blink or 10 blink code. 2 blinks is the most common though.
On the C board there are a couple of 1 ohm resistors connected in series with the Vda line to each tab driver. Check for shorts on each end of the resistors. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: TH-42PZ80U - 10 blink
I remember having a panasonic with a similar problem, I disconected each of the cables going from the panel to the c board, I found one that was bad, shorted ic on ribbon cable. whith the bad cable disconected the tv worked fine except for the black band on one side. would work in 4x3 mode as a test tv.Comment

by cheeky2For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...01-08-2024, 05:56 AM -
by Asraf AtbHi everyone,
Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.
Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.
I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....1 Photo -
Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by eclectricHi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue before I give up on this TV.
In short, I replaced the T-CON board due to an error code indicating that was the problem, after which it flashed a green and orange LED meaning software update required. I cannot get the tv to do the required update via USB, so I am stuck.
Here is a rundown of the symptoms and the steps I have taken to troubleshoot:
I inherited the TV with the symptom that it would turn on, then turn off after 5-10 seconds and a red LED flashed 4 or 5 times. Sometimes it would be 4, sometimes... - Loading...
