I have you a detailed information and steps to troubleshoot it, if the LVDS was covered with tape you must remove that tape and follow my instructions again, there's no way that the panel KV lines are shorted on both sides of the panel, remove the tape from the LVDS and connect it back with your new t-con and try the troubleshooting again; if could you're living in Dubai I would do it for you.

I purchased brand new sets of LVDS cables and was working with those since I started back up looking at this few weeks ago.
It was only recently when i looked at the original LVDS cables that I noticed the tape from the previous owner.
I have been using brand new LVDS, brand new T-Con and a confirmed working Main board only.
Nothing really else to do or try.

Just put a the red multimeter prop on VONE point and the black one on GND then turn the TV on and see if you have any changes on the multimeter screen (if digital) or if you have analogue multimeter you'll have a sudden move on the gauge; if so that mean your t-con and motherboard and everything is working fine but you have a short on the lcd panel, after that you have to isolate which side is having short. Just give this a final try before scrapping it.
