    Samsung LA40F81BDX problem

Ive got a curious one here. I have a LA40F81BDX it was a great TV until it has suddenly developed a screen problem. I have checked the PS for the regular problems (bad caps) but to no avail, I have also changed out the T-Con board and had no luck. It appears everything is working fine (sound, etc) and on pressing the menu button the screen does change to a different image.

I just need to know what else to try or if I am wasting my time. Thanks!

    could be a bad vram.
if it's bga your in trouble, but if it's tsop you may find a compatable chip on a scrap board to swap over.

could be something else too - but ram is the most unreliable type of chips.

So it shows just lines on the screen and no image on the back ground?
How many ribbon cables it has between the T-CON and the LCD panel? I would try having one ribbon cable connected one at a time to see what you get on the screen.

Not vram IMHO as image is not perfectly even (image slightly fades.)
          Probably panel defect.

OK there is four ribbon cables between the TCon and the panel. On removing them each in turn I get very similar results to the existing problem although the vertical patterns are slightly different and in one instance the half the panel is all white.
