th50pz80u powers on and fans are running. green leds on sc and ss boards. The screen comes on a dim gray. It has a solid red led on front. When I disconnect the cable between the A and D boards the screen lights up. My A board is a tnph0721al , will any other boards work? Any help would be welcome. thanks.

Re: panasonic th-50pz80u no picture
A board issue, I just got the exact same model the other day. It powers on, red led is solid no blinks, and the screen glows. Replaced the A board and that fixed it.
Did this problem happened after a storm and a power surge just wondering? -

Board options as listed on ShopJimmy: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsear...d&q=th-50pz80u
Edit: Geez, that's an expensive board.Last edited by capkid; 05-18-2014, 05:45 PM.Comment

Re: panasonic th-50pz80u no picture
The only compatible boards I saw on ShopJimmy were ALS and AFS. I wonder if these boards will work: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsear...d&q=th-c50fd18

I'm unsure of the subtle differences between TH-C50FD18 and TH-50PZ80U. I have both TVs, and they look the same (both made in 2008), minus the shiny bezel on the TH-50PZ80U.
Edit: I've read that TH-C50FD18 is a Costco version of TH-50PZ80U.Last edited by capkid; 05-18-2014, 05:59 PM.Comment

Re: panasonic th-50pz80u no picture
Yeah its an expensive board, I was fortunate enough to use the A-board from the 42" panasonic TH-PZ4280U with the 10 blink PSU problem i couldn't figure out. The suffixes weren't the same, but hey it worked perfectly! Don't remember which.Comment

Re: panasonic th-50pz80u no picture
Panasonic TVs usually have some issues swapping different A board screen sizes over but I thought that only applied to the newer models. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

I've only had one experience with Modus, but they did a great job repairing an LCD TV main board. They were very responsive to questions.Comment

I've had two mainboards fixed by them, a Samsung and a Panasonic. Expensive, but can be the only way to get a working board.Comment

Re: panasonic th-50pz80u no picture
I'd feel much more comfortable having them repair my original board than buying a used board, especially if the failure is common for the TV model. The Samsung main board I had them fix is prone to failure, and it was only about $70 to correct.Last edited by capkid; 05-21-2014, 02:31 PM.Comment

by csmithI replaced the backlights all good. Two months later set was dead, had a shorted D9100, replaced all good again.

supply is 19 volts. Changed D9100 again, same, 12 volts measures 19. Am I looking at a power supply or mainboard

by FZGHello!
I recently got an old VHS player from Panasonic and just for fun I want to try to repair this device. It is an AG-1000B portable VHS player from 1990 and it has a problem with picture quality in playback mode.
Picture in playback mode is very noisy and often loses sync but the still images are nearly perfect.
I want to know, is this something that could be solved by recapping or is the video head likely gone?
Also, what mechanism is this?
Any feedback is appreciated!...05-06-2024, 07:16 AM -
by sergio_avHi, I'm unexperienced with troubleshooting and I'm not sure how to proceed with this laptop.
Motherboard is A5WAH LA-B991P I think, i5-5200U and nvidia 820m.
When I received the laptop, CMOS battery had 0V. I took it out and all the testing has been done without a CMOS battery and without the main battery plugged in, I haven't been able to see physical damage, burnt or missing components with a quick visual inspection, and no shorts were found.
Laptop charges the battery, powers on when ON button is pressed when powered from charger and when powered from the battery, but...1 Photo -
by KYBOSHSaved this beast from the landfill this weekend.
Manfactured July 2013 in Mexico.
I love working on plasma TVs.
Its been a while but I was lucky enough to find 2 this week.
The TV powers on and stays on but no picture. Havent checked for sound yet.
No bulging caps although the insides are pretty dusty and the boards are discolored from many years of high heat.
Will start troubleshooting tonight.

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... - Loading...
