Thanks! Board is still not working, it probably has other problems. When I plug in the power adapter it idles at 0.015A and briefly jumps to 0.200A when pressing the power button but it goes down again immediately. Keeping the power button pressed heats up an IC which is likely the 3.3V LDO. Should I replace the IC or does it indicate a problem with the EC or PCH?

Can someone please take a look at this bios? The board does not power on at all but voltages are present (19V/5V/3.3V/1.8V).
I already tried to put together a fresh bios with the existing ME but it did not solve the problem so I guess I must have done it wrong.

The problem was related to the flex cable that is attached to the screen. This cable is prone to get cracks over time from opening and closing the lid. Unfortunately the only option is to replace the whole display assembly. Look on Lenovos forums, this was a problem for many owners of this model....

Make a backup of your current BIOS before doing anything (can be done with GPU-Z).
Flashing a new BIOS can be done with Nvidia NVFlash or with a USB programmer.
Latest rom for your card is here: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/219116/msi-rtx2080ti-11264-200203

Besides all the VBIOS stuff, check your display cable as well (just in case it´s that simple...)https://Make a backup of your curren...SB programmer.

How does it work with the other connectors? Should have 3xDP, 1xHDMI, 1xUSB-C.
Did you check VBIOS version with GPU-Z? Latest version is 90.02.42.00.14. If everything else fails, might be worth to give it a try.

In the video it looks like it also happens when starting the PC from sleep mode.
What exact model of GPU are we talking about?
You shoud try to update the GPU VBIOS, if there is an update available. Use GPU-Z to check your current firmware version.

I do believe the same but CPU reballing is out of my league and the laptop is running fine at the moment.

I guess this is some scrambled version of the mainboard vendor logo and the loading circle. Can you access BIOS and if so, does it display correctly?

Laptop has just passed two complete runs of Memtest86 without errors so I might call it fixed for now, even though I have changed nothing since the last time the fault occured. Strange one. Thanks for your help, guys!

Already cleaned it and resoldered the pins. Laptop is in a stable phase right now but I fully expect it to fail again. But thanks for the input.

As far as I can see on the HP support page, SP100615 is not a BIOS update for your laptop.
Try this one, it is made from SP112241 (F.50 Rev. A)....

Yes, no problems at all with onboard RAM only.
About the RAM slot tester: how do they work? Would like to know more. If they check the connection between the slot and the CPU, then what would that tell me? A missing or weak signal could still be caused by the slot or the CPU....

Ran fine for a few hours, then the problem reappeared. It is a very intermittent fault.

I heard about fake Amtech 559 on several occasions. I have a syringe of 559 as well and I am not sure if it is actually genuine since it was rather cheap but it does what it is supposed to do and it does not get dark at 350°C soldering temperature....

Yes, the onboard RAM is stuck down with black glue. Putting pressure on the RAM stick or rattling it never really changed anything.
I have now resorted to re-soldering every pin of the RAM slot (to eliminiate possible cold solder joints) and the machine is now running for over an hour without the issue appearing. But I am still very hesitant to call it a fix. Will need to leave it running for some time and run some tests.
Still don´t understand (if it was bad connections) why it never resulted in bluescreen errors but always graphical glitches. Is that expected beh...

RAM slot looks okay though. No corrosion, nothing bent. I checked every single pin is soldered solid. I´m not ruling out the CPU yet, maybe a cracked solder ball corresponding to DDR channel A (the slot).
Another thing that seems strange but might be normal: I checked resistance to ground and voltages on all coils. CPU coils (PL3400, PL3401) read 128 Ohm and voltage can be up to 1,6 V. Both values seem quite high to me. But I don´t know unless someone with the same board can confirm this....
