Samsung LN52A750R1FXZA, DVD only works on HDMI2, AppleTV on HDMI4 but not vice versa.

I recently fixed this TV and sold it to a friend for a very low price. He got it home and all seemed fine. He called me this week and said he can't get the TV to recognize the cable box. He then told me that when he first got it, each HDMI port had a device label attached to it. The only one I can remember is that HDMI2 was labeled DVD. He said that was the only port that would recognize his DVD player, all other ports show "No Signal". His Apple TV 2 is only recognized by HDMI4, all other ports show "No Signal". I'm going over there this evening to see if I can figure anything out. The owners manual was no help.

Any ideas? Do you think a reset from the service menu will clear it up?

I just left there. A factory reset appears to have fixed the problem.

Samsung LED TV Model UA46D5500RR stuck on HDMI4
        by angelos
Hi Guys. Just a quick question. I have this SMART TV set that when switched on comes up with the smart logo and then reverts to HDMI4 input and stays there. I cannot make any changes via the front panel keypad or the remote. Its stuck on that input. It leads me to believe that the firmware or main board is faulty.
My question is...... Is there a procedure where you take the firmware and reload it? I cannot do anything here because no buttons work. And the USB firmware update option is menu driven. Putting the firmware into USB1 and powering up the TV does nothing but start up the TV with...

        Toshiba 50UL2063DB randomly rebooting with HDMI-CEC and/or HDMI-ARC enabled
        by spleenharvester
I have this TV hooked up to only an AppleTV 4K and a Creative soundbar. Originally HDMI-CEC and HDMI-ARC wouldn't work at all, I replaced all the HDMI cables with decent UGREEN cables meeting the latest standards, now it all works perfectly but once or twice a day the TV itself reboots while watching a program, the AppleTV keeps running. I haven't fully pinned down whether it is ARC or CEC causing it yet. All are running latest firmware.

I assume it is just HDMI-CEC being buggy as usual on a shitty Vestel machine, but can anyone think of anything I can try before disabling it?

Lenovo P14s Gen 5 SVP unlock
        by Syseng
This sums up discussion related to Lenovo P14s Gen5 in this thread. Credits go to Sbaro and especially Maxpower3. The locked dump is attached.

The device is based on NM-F871 motherboard with Nuvoton NPCK397 series controller. The motherboard also contains three BIOS chips: two different Winbond chips for main BIOS and external EC flash, and also a Gigadevice chip which purpose I do not know. The password information is contained directly in controller and thus can be manipulated by reprogramming it, so reprogramming BIOS chips is technically not required, however you may wish to make...

Reverse engineering of 18650 4-channel tester
        by spleenharvester
        Hi friends

I have reverse engineered this tester, schematic is attached and is complete except for capacitor values. These testers annoyingly have no model number but they are the ones you find on the first page of just about any website if you type in "18650 4-channel tester". There is also a 2-channel variant and a newer 8-channel variant. They are very cheap (about £15) and can measure voltage, current, internal resistance and capacity. They have a multicolour display for all these statistics. They also have terminal blocks so that if you want to use a breakout board...

Apple MBP16" A2141 820-01700 PMIC power cycles no boot no shorts
        by flusher
        Bought myself a project thing. Apple MBP16" A2141 820-01700
        No shorts, no visible waterdamage.
        Dead. no history.
All USBC ports do 20V and charging battery.
If you plug battery/charger PPBUS is 12.6v and all power rails like RTC, 3v3, 5v etc are present. U7800 PMIC all voltages are present APART from PPVCCPRIMCORE_PRIM_REG (not sure if it has to be present at this stage?! resistance is 40 Ohm). SSD 2.5, 0.9, 1.8 are present on both wings. Charger meter shows 30ma or something like this on charged battery.
But what PMIC does is that it power cycles(dropping to...
