Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
Unfortunately when I was moving the LCD Panel as I was setting it down I chipped a very small nick in the corner . Will have to put this one aside until I can find a new panel.Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
Check the signal cables to the panel are connected properly.
It's also possible you damaged the panel or drivers when replacing the backlights. Unfortunately if this has happened it is not fixable.Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
Finally got the backlight working by replacing one of the bad backlight lamps. Now it does not shut down but I have a new problem. In the attached photo you will see all these lines in the screen that was not their before.. Any ideas what would cause this???Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
I took off the LCD screen and the White plastic cover where I could observe all of the lamps real close. I found the problem one of the lamps was starting to flicker just slightly and could only be noticed with the white plastic screen removed. I removed the lamp and that solved the problem of the backlight shutting down. Now to find a replacement lamp. Does anyone know a source where I can buy a single lamp? I would replace all of them but have already spent a ton on this set. I am planning on just replacing the single lamp for now and keep the TV and watch it a while to make sure everything is ok.

Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
Do the lamp ends have metal cap on it? If I remember correctly, it is not CCFL, I just do not remember the name of it right now, it is another type fluorescent that uses different electrode ends, they can be connected in parallel with out having ballast cap per lamp.
OK, I found some info, they may be EEFL (used in LC470 series panel).Last edited by budm; 05-19-2014, 09:20 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
All the lamps light equal. Tcon combined with main and no caps on boards. Should have new cables by Tuesday. If that don't fix it then I will set it aside until I find one with a broken screen and use for parts.Leave a comment:

Are there any small blue caps on the board where the lamps are connected to?Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
When the tv backlight turns off can you still shine a light behind it and still see a picture. That would eliminate the t con and panel.Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
Do all of the ccfl bulbs light up to the same brightness. If one is duller then the others it means its on the way out. That could be the only thing I would think since you have replaced the main and power board multiple times. Does your model have the t con built into the screen or is it a separate board? If it's separate or I guess even fixed if for some reason there is a fault in the t con and it shuts down and looses the video signal it will shut the backlights off.Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio E470VL backlight circuit sensitivity
All the lamps DO light up. I have the model that has the PS and inverter board combined. I have replaced this board as well as the main board ( twice ). I did find some arc spots underneath the boards that the lamps are connected too. I cleaned these areas and reinsulated with electrical tape. Still same problem!! Waiting on cables to arrive but this really has me stumped. Plays at most two or three minutes before I loose lamp signal shutting down back lights. ?????Leave a comment:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by Bugman1400EDITED: I thought my Vizio E470VL has +5VSB and no 12v on the PS board, but after plugging the cable back in and testing the pins on the Main board I realized that I do have 12V. I assume the 12V is turned on when the ON/OFF switch is pressed. The Vizio light in front does go from Standby Orange to White when ON. But, I still have no picture or sound. Test values of PS board are below.
+5VSB= +5.09
12V= +12.18
PS_ON= +2.25
I_ON/OFF= +3.27
LAMP= +3.18
DIM= +2.97
Any more testing I can do on Main board or is it just a replacement?... -

by AstonishedHi friends of electronics
What you see in the video and pictures attached is the circuit for charging the batteries of a DC motor.
The problem is that this circuit cannot charge the batteries (3 1800mAH NiMH batteries) any more. When the circuit was OK, its green LEDs lit up one at a time to show that the batteries have charged more. But now that the circuit is flawed, LEDs light up as you see in the video and at the same time successive beeps are heard.
Please help me fix this circuit.

by mrtekHi.
picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED... - Loading...
