LG 42 g3000 white screen

Hi I have a LG 42 G3000 with a fault.

When I switch the tv on I get a white screen,the audio remains perfect.

If I tilt the tv back and forth or leave it switched on for 10 minutes the screen normally rectifies itself.

I have removed the back cover and removed the T Con board to check the ribbon connections,re fitted it and the fault remains.


Anyone help me out?

42LG3000 or 42PG3000? Entirely different models! One LCD one plasma.

a search in the forum will show plenty of threads on this, you basically need to do a diy fix on the top of the tab bonds, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

you'll need to remove the lcd front frame too to access the tabs

Is it more likely to be a tab bond problem as opposed to T Con board?

be easier than us guessing for you to just test the tab bonds, but as you're leaving it to warm up it will be tab bonds IMO

The fault was with the left hand corner tab bond.

Sorry to re-hash an old thread, but can you explain how you fixed this? I have the same problem, and I believe it to be the top left board, as with a minimal amount of pressure applied the picture goes perfect. It's a TV I previously Gave up on but recently came across the exact same TV with a cracked screen so went for a screen swap tonight, and I'm being led to the same issue.

I have, it's definitely at fault. But how do I repair it? It seems to have bowed slightly, and when you press it it helps, but is there a permenant fix?

It is really tricky fixing it, check tab bond guides. There are plenty on youtube. You basically place a little piece of rubber between the metal frame and the tabs on the screen.
