Re: Samsung UE55MU6120KXXU, new main board, no picture.
@Diah
I have uploaded a picture of the angle I am testing the pin at and a picture of my results also.
I may not be accurate in regards to knowing which pins are +1 +2 etc but here is what I think I found :
Between +2 & - 2 I have 10.5VDC~11.8VDC
Between +1 & - 1 I have 0
in fact, when testing down to chassis, only the one in the top left returns a voltage, which is 380 VDC at start up. The rest are 0....

Re: Samsung UE55MU6120KXXU, new main board, no picture.
@dick_barton
So with the main board disconnected, the back lights don't come on.
With the main board connected, the back-lights still do not come on. Just a single blink of the standby light. I don't hear menu sounds or anything like before.
At the connecter I reported on earlier, with everything plugged in, at start up I get 380VDC and it slowly creeps downwards. After about a minute it only just falls to 250VDC.
In AC it fluctuates, and strangely it doesn't really differ...

Re: Samsung UE55MU6120KXXU, new main board, no picture.
@dick_barton I have attached a picture. On the power board I noticed an arrow stating 210v at this pin. I tested and only found 60v.
However, it's no longer doing what it was. Now the standby light just blinks and there is no back-light turning on. I'm not sure if ive shorted something while testing, but I doubt it. The pins on the other side of that connector are barely exposed so i couldn't have gone accross 2 points at once.
The only other thing I checked was the panel boards, which is obviously quite...

Re: Samsung UE55MU6120KXXU, new main board, no picture.
Hi Questcom, thanks for the suggestion but I have just tried this a few times with each board in and it didn't seem to respond to the operation at all and continued its loop. Tried it with one of the flat ribbons removed as well.
Cheers anyway.
@Dick_barton, I have measured resistance for all 4 wires in that connector and got a perfect 00.00 each time.
Also attached a pic of the connection on the burnt end but looks fine.
Appreciate your assistance thus far by the way 👍...

Re: Samsung UE55MU6120KXXU, new main board, no picture.
Yes that's my board. I've attached 2 pictures of each connection. I did notice ced that one of the pin holes has what seems like a potential burn mark on it. It's very faint you; can just make it out in the picture. (accross the top of the white plug)
Regarding the ribbons, no I do not have half a picture. Funnily enough it's only when I remove one of the ribbons that I get the back light come on. And that's when I can press menu buttons etc and hear the tones. When I press exit from the menu, for example, the...

Samsung UE55MU6120KXXU, new main board, no picture.
Hi guys, am looking for some assistance here as I'm not sure on my next steps.
I got hold of the above mentioned TV and found that I had a probable fault with the main board, so I ordered a new one (with the exact same BN numbers etc) and have found slightly differing results between old and new. It seems as though it may not be a main board fault after all though, but that's where I need help.
With the old board in and everything plugged in, just get back light on, and I can hear the interface sounds when I press menu/hub etc. With the new board, with everything...

Bush 50/211f slow turning on
I have picked up a Bush TV model 50/211f, turns on ok sometimes, other times it takes a while. I've had the power board out but all of the caps look ok. Caps are 'Chang' - a brand I've never heard of. The board is from 2011 so lasted over 8 years. Shall I grab a new board for £20/£25 off ebay, or can you see any bulging in these? Or, do you have any methods I could try to reveal the bad cap....
I don't have a capacitance meter but do have a few different testers around, so if worst comes to worst i can take them out of circuit tomorrow and test that way?
Thanks...

Re: LG 42LG3000-ZA repair, doesn't tune Digital TV, fixed
I have never looked into the respective components your post concerns, but what I will say is that this TV is one that I have had the longest relationship with. I Currently have one and a half, and am stuck between creating a concept TV, with extended ribbons/cables enabling me to house everything in a separate, slightly cooler area, or just selling the boards.
If you're in the UK I am happy to send you what you need.

Re: LG 42 g3000 white screen
Ten minutes in and were looking good. Previously it wouldn't make it past 10 seconds, so it's already looking like the right type of fix. I only used about 10mm X 15mm cut offs, underneath and over the top of each of the three left hand side bonds.
Thank you very much for your help guys.

Re: LG 42 g3000 white screen
Well thanks very much for the responses. So glad there is a website like this that is clearly used to frequently. I've not done TVs for a while but I decided to get back into it and bought four units the other day, so I'm sure I'll be on here a fair bit.
Anyway, I think I'll order some thermal gap pads and paste and put this LG down for a while. The tab bonds are reading 56C after about two minutes of use.
Anyway, Now to have a look at a Samsung UE55....

Re: LG 42 g3000 white screen
I have, it's definitely at fault. But how do I repair it? It seems to have bowed slightly, and when you press it it helps, but is there a permenant fix?...

Re: LG 42 g3000 white screen
Sorry to re-hash an old thread, but can you explain how you fixed this? I have the same problem, and I believe it to be the top left board, as with a minimal amount of pressure applied the picture goes perfect. It's a TV I previously Gave up on but recently came across the exact same TV with a cracked screen so went for a screen swap tonight, and I'm being led to the same issue.
