Samsung UN46D6000SF LED Backlight

This was given to me and I have no history at all

When first plugged in, the standby light comes on and blinks 5 times and goes out
I can see the back light come on fairly bright through the holes in the back panel
then go out and back on dimmer and stay on but the standby light goes out
I can turn it off with either console or remote and back on where it will repeat the above

I have no OSD just a black screen so I can't hook it up to a signal but tried to turn the sound wide open so as to hear a noise but hear nothing

I'm thinking it should show the Menu (OSD) with no source hooked to it

I replaced both Main and Power Supply board with no change

If I unhook power line from PS to Main, the back light stays on much brighter and looking through all the holes in the back, seem to be equally bright

Could my problem be the TCON board

Well, I replaced the TCON board and no go

I have no picture, or sound. the standby just blinks 4 times and nothing else

At the plug going to the LEDs, I have on the 4 wires 62-149-149- 267 volts to ground, is that normal

This is strange. Your backlights are behaving as expected. Bad LVDS cable ?

no, he would still have sound.
probably a missing voltage somewhere.

I had a D series TV(3D smart) a while back and I know that this series suffers from bad panels.
Try removing the ribbon cables going to the panel, one at a time. I'm suspecting a shorted panel.
Mine it was like that, when one of them it was removed on the other half screen I had image.
I won't be picking up D series TVs anymore, I will stay away from them, they have bad panels.

I. Having a problem with same model tv, black picture no sound. Standby light will blink 5 double blinks 2 "regular blinks" 1 long blink. Anybody have any idea? I looked online and saw something about changing caps but looking at board online don't know what caps they could be . Any help much appreciated

Please show us the pictures of the whole back side of the TV so we can see all the boards and how they are connected together, then good straight shot pictures of the power supply board.

Ok thanks I will do that, the tv is at my inlaws house and should be going soon to look at it and will post pics. I wonder why Samsung does not provide us with a code list as to what the specific blinks means , as I'm sure they all mean something?

They have no meaning for Samsung.
