Panasonic tx-p50xt50b won't turn on for days

    Panasonic tx-p50xt50b won't turn on for days

    Hi guys, been asked to look as this tv, takes 2-4days plugged in before it turns on!

    Checked psu (didnt want to turn mains off and leave him with no tv) all voltage test points are ok, no sign of any bulging caps, getting a psu off ebay for a quick fix but is there a chance it's the main board and not the psu?
    There's no led when tv is in standby, only when its on so i can't see if its just the standy 5v at fault or if it just won't wake up when told to

    Anyone delt with this issue before?

    Probably bad caps, even when not visibly bad or bad solder joints.

        Ahh cheers guys, wish he had another tv to use so I could change the part n caps, can't risk leaving him with no tv for days waiting for a psu to turn up if its more than that but once I've replace the board I'll crack on with checking that part out n if it works I'll sell in on ebay :-)

          It's a bit young for cap issues, it would be nice if you do have a crack at that Ic to confirm that info. Starting to see a number of posts with all the same problem so would help a few people out down the track,

            The new board is here Tuesday so once I get the old one I'll test it n let you all know

              Right guys, got the board swapped n tv came straight on, tested the old board before swapping, the 5vstby is dead which points towards the above mentioned chip,

              Have any of you guys worked on these chips and where do I start with it?

                Follow the notes and replace the IC, that's what I'm hoping. no you will be the first I believe.

                That info I posted not too long ago so up until then , reports of this PSU issue but nothing on that chip.

                the only ? I have is about the IC part itself .

                Why not just follow the tips, remove it and get a new IC as it says. I don't think they're too expensive
