    Maxent mx-42xm11 repair

    Hey everybody

I have an old Maxent mx-42xm11 that I'd like to repair and was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose the problems.

The first problem is the TV takes about 10 minutes to warm up. About 7 minutes after being turned on, it starts to flash the picture. Once it's warmed up it works normally.

The other problem is there are red, green and blue dots that are constantly flashing on the screen. These are on the picture even once it's warmed up. I'll attach a picture so y'all can see what I'm talking about.

If anyone knows what might be causing these issues I'd be very thankful for the help.

Probably best to open it up and post some pictures of the boards. The issue could very well be bad caps by the symptoms you described.

a heat gun may also be useful to pinpoint areas causing issues if nothing obvious is seen

Bad solder joint also comes to mind.

I am very Interested in the out come of this issue as i have the exact same model
Mine after the same amount of time flashing from not on at first to the screen the original poster posted (coloured scrambled) then to solid blue as it is supposed to do. So i played a film on it and as it was playing sometimes it would flicker for like 2 seconds every so often but worked in general i am leaning toward the power supply or the main board but im not sure on anything at this point i see no bad caps or anything burnt was thinking about using the heat method but since it works after letting it blink off and on for approx 7-10 mins (warming up) and then work not sure heat would be the thing to use

This thing weighs a ton it is very heavy to work with please keep that in mind
