Are there any cheaper options? I probably will rarely if ever use a programmer like that again, I don't care about speeds or anything I just need something that gets the job done. For the price of either of those where i live i could get a new mainboard.Comment

It's pretty hard to find even CH341A for less than 15 dollars, so as you can see it's just not worth the effort.Comment

Hi Vapor, i agree with 1st message of Lotas (except for the vga pins, them are TX, RX, GND, but it doesn't matter here), don't buy a ch341a, it's totally useless unless you are an engineer with software skills and much, much, much free time.. micro controller its not an eprom with a common language, it needs serial commands specifically for that chip, plus the chip is chinese or the like so difficult maybe for datasheet.. maybe i'm not right 100%, maybe the serial commands are not as complex as i said.. if i had time i would start a test programming with serial monitoring and gave to you the log to semplify your pc programming job, but i have no time and maybee not so wish, sorry, maybe we meet online this winter, byeLast edited by Davi.p; 08-29-2024, 04:49 PM.Comment

Sooooooo, the programmer WAS supposed to arrive last Friday, but it just didn't. I have it now though.

I'll attach some pics of the programmer, and the documentation and software i got with it. (The documentation is in polish but there is probably a English version somewhere)5 PhotosComment

where exactly do i wire the resistor? Also my board came with a jumper placed, do i remove it? It looks like it switches modes but its in chinese, one says something and the other has TTL and something.
Also the schematic you provided provides 3.3v (which i also have from the programmer if needed) instead of five, and the resistor there is 2.2kom.Comment

There is no need to remove the jumper, it must be set to 1-2 pins, and you must first install the drivers for the programmer.Last edited by lotas; 09-02-2024, 02:43 PM.Comment

The resistor should be set to 1 kOm, we don't need to supply 3.3v, there is a 3.3v LDO on the board, which powers the controller, and we supply these 5v from the programmer, we need them to reset the controller. Connect like this.

by trepachkaI am trying to convert a HP EliteBook 840 G7 notebook from a non-touch to a touchscreen. I purchased a complete touch LCD assembly with a screen/back cover/bezel/video cable and swapped it out with the original non-touch LCD assembly.
The screen works but the touch does not. I know the new LCD assembly is completely functional because we tried it on a similar touchscreen EliteBook 840 G7 and the touch works there.
I contacted the seller and he said screen conversion like this will not work due some difference in the motherboard for non-touch and touch capable EliteBook 840 G7.

by ProttHello,
I have a question that's driving me a bit nuts recently.
Is the touch board on Surface Pro 4/5 somehow married to the motherboard? I have a few Surfaces that, after the touch board change, lost all touch functionality.
- I tried flashing the bios (simple ME clean from a known good bios, previous bios didn't have an intergrated hub enabled), reinstalling firmware, reinstalling windows and even new touch boards.
- In one instance, after I tried to troubleshoot by using a known good screen + touch pcb combo on a Surface that lost touch, the touch board... -
