Ok, guys here I have a Westinghouse LD4655VX LED TV that is totally dead no light on the front or anything. Only one board inside and I tested the power and do have 19 volts coming in to it but not sure what to check next. All the caps look ok and nothing looks to have gotten hot.

Re: Westinghouse LD4655VX Dead
A little more messing and I find if I unplug the ribbon cable to the right side if the screen I can get the tv to turn on but of course only showing the left part of the screen. I have what cable marked in the picture. Would that mean the LCD screen is crap? -

Re: Westinghouse LD4655VX Dead
Agree. Those are the led backlights. You could have a shorted cable to ground. Ohm out the cable. Should be infinite resistance all around.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Westinghouse LD4655VX Dead
not sure exactly what you mean by separate from the panel. yes the led's are the lights that allow you to see the picture from the panel just like the ccfl or eefl lamps do on a tv with lamps not leds. if that is what you mean....Comment

Re: Westinghouse LD4655VX Dead
yes that TV is either LED backlit or LED edge it. either way the LED's are mounted to the frame of the TV separate from the panel when you remove the panel you'll see the LED's behind all the sheets of plastic and diffusers all that has to come on the way to access the LED'sDid I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Westinghouse LD4655VX Dead
Looks like the infamous Westinghouse shorted cable. You will brobably find the shory where it connects to the LED strip and bends around the frame of the strip. Sometimes you can fix it with some tape I've done it twice. While you are in there, put tape on the other one too.Comment

by edugimenoHi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth... -
by double_DDHi all,
As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?
I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.
Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard... -
by adelageHi, I am installing a long led strip and I noticed that it frequently flickers slightly, it is not a strong nor regular thing, but it is noticeable and annoying. I have measured the voltage of the mains and it shows some fluctuations, it normally stays at around 226v, but often (every few seconds) drops down to 218/219v), and the flickering happens exactly at the same time. I have measured this at the counter and with every appliance off, so it's not related to the house electrical system, but that's how it comes from the supplier.
I know that the best solution would be to get a voltage... -
by benareenoI wonder if i shorted the whole strip...where to put pos and neg to just light up a single diode...or the entire strip. The strip lit for a second...so maybe i fried it? What say you?
I have an adjustable dc power supply and was trying around 9 volts.
I have a pic of a single diode...where to put pos and neg terminals to light it up?
Pic of middle of strip..is this where i light the entire strip?
And pic of end...or does this light the entire strip?
Where to put pos and neg for single diode..multiple diodes and the entire... -
