    Westinghouse LD4655VX Dead

Ok, guys here I have a Westinghouse LD4655VX LED TV that is totally dead no light on the front or anything. Only one board inside and I tested the power and do have 19 volts coming in to it but not sure what to check next. All the caps look ok and nothing looks to have gotten hot.

A little more messing and I find if I unplug the ribbon cable to the right side if the screen I can get the tv to turn on but of course only showing the left part of the screen. I have what cable marked in the picture. Would that mean the LCD screen is crap?

So does that control only the LED's?

Agree. Those are the led backlights. You could have a shorted cable to ground. Ohm out the cable. Should be infinite resistance all around.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

First LED I had apart. So I'm guessing the LED's are separate from the panel then correct?

not sure exactly what you mean by separate from the panel. yes the led's are the lights that allow you to see the picture from the panel just like the ccfl or eefl lamps do on a tv with lamps not leds. if that is what you mean....

yes that TV is either LED backlit or LED edge it. either way the LED's are mounted to the frame of the TV separate from the panel when you remove the panel you'll see the LED's behind all the sheets of plastic and diffusers all that has to come on the way to access the LED's

Looks like the infamous Westinghouse shorted cable. You will brobably find the shory where it connects to the LED strip and bends around the frame of the strip. Sometimes you can fix it with some tape I've done it twice. While you are in there, put tape on the other one too.
