Cracked Screen plasmas and buffer/ysus board

I've come across cases where a cracked screen from a Plasma tv ends up shorting one of the buffer boards.

Do cracked plasmas usually only short out the buffer board? What about the Y sustain boards?

i will say that its is usually buffers ..the x and y main. some. sets damage n short out more componets than others..

Usually 3 out of 5 fail on cracked screens. Its a gamble.

Newer panels. Not applicable for most older plasmas and also if the set was never powered up it does not apply.

True. But.my assumption is based on the people around here that think a cracked screen will still work fine. And those people also should not drive or breed. Lol

Yeah just needs some new plasma liquid m8 and she'll be good u can buy it from Tesco.

got one ...i picked from trash with small crack very samll ...trouble shooting reveals bad buffer i replaced with a one "also from trash believe it or not"

the buffer was rusted because it was in recycle bin area

i pick it up and clean it with thinner solution

after immense cleaning i install it in tv and power up

the tv worked with smeared picture

shutwon it twice no problem

i tried to reset one or tow of the ribbon cables

when i fire the tv again it wont work ...the buffer got shorted again

still though not sure if the buffer got bad because of bad connection or because of cracked panel loading it to death

Tom the plasma liquid used to be in the same aisle as the LCD/plasma crack repair glue,they was out of both on my last tesco shopping trip, just aswell I am not right out.still have half a tube of each if you need some

Oh is that right next to the headlight fluid and left handed screwdrivers?

is that also next to the sky hooks and the skirtingboard ladders and also the tins of tartan paint.

They still had the sky hooks but only in the large size , alright for hanging out your washing on a windy day

lol when i was on a youth training scheme i was put at a tyre fitting station one day i was being taught wheel balancing and get sent too the shop for a long weight/wait lol you can guess how long i was stood there for as they had rang the shop first hahaha

I worked for a long time at a micro electronics company test and inspection, when I started there they tried that with me, sent me to the stores dept with among other requests a long weight / wait. it was in the afternoon so I buggered off home for the rest of the day. Got back the next morning and when asked I produced the stores slip and asked "Long enough for you"

haha at the tartan paint i vaguely remember being sent for that when i was a kid lol, also the glass hammer, the tin of elbow grease, also i remember being sent to the bakers for virgin tarts and it took me a long time to figure our why i never got the same tart

sky hooks and long weights ahahaha i got some victims lined up for those
