Well in that case I think I will send this one back for a refund and look out for another board.

Thanks for your time and help multimeter and tom66.

Hi, the seller has agreed to a refund.

The T460HW02 V2 t-con board seems to be pretty rare - none for sale in the UK that I can find right now. But there are quite a few T460HW02 V0 boards which from the photos look almost identical. What are the chances that the V0 would work as a replacement?

What do you think? There's a few T460HW02 V0 t-con boards around but no T460HW02 V2 boards that I can find in the UK at the moment.

I contacted one US seller who had both boards listed in the same sale and he told me they both work with the same panel. From photos the boards look identical except for the numbers. I've attached datasheets for both panels for interest.

Think it's worth trying out a V0 board on the V2 panel?

So after receiving no replies.. (where were you guys??? ) I ordered a V0 board to try out.

With the panel connected I get an image but with some bars on one side of the screen, and some funky colouring in the bars. The menu appears over the bars. Images attached.

Are the bars likely a symptom of bad t-con? Or an incompatibility of the V0 board with the V2 panel/main board, or a problem with the tabs/panel? Something else? Basically I'm wondering if it's worth trying another V0 board or waiting for a V2.

Tcon is fine. Menus appear over affected area. That has to be am incompatibility issue. Maybe a setting for this can resolve it?

Did I leave the soldering iron on?

              Thanks freakaftr8!

It turns out it was something else. Remember how when I had the bad t-con in I said the screen issue was different with the t-con metal cover on? I remembered that and decided to test again with the cover installed and it works now!

So what's the deal with the cover? Thermal transfer? Screening? Grounding? Pressure on the board? I know it's probably all of those but I didn't realise it made such a difference in the display. Obviously I had to have it removed for testing voltages etc, though I did have the board screwed down so thought it must be grounded, and nothing was getting obviously hot.

Anyway, I'm happy to report the V0 board does seem to work for the moment with the V2 panel. Only difference I could see on the boards was actually around the transistor I fried on the first board - which isn't present on the V0, and a couple of resistors and caps are different next to it. (see pics)

For anyone that's interested, I found out that the bar issue is affected by pressure on the large BGA chip on the t-con. With the cover in place there is constant pressure on that chip hence the image improving but the problem has started to creep back in even with it all screwed together.

My guess is the solder balls under the chip are aging and need reballing. So looks like another bad t-con then.

Hi guys, I have this problem, the tv below is via scart so im assuming its not a Main Board problem.

the image is split and the menu is in reverse
