Re: Panasonic TX-P42GT20B - Stuck Stby
Yes, replace the A board. It's extremely unlikely to be P or SS.

Most likely the A board is bad then.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50G10. 6 blinks to 7 blinks.
You might need to set your multimeter on peak/max hold mode to catch the SOS event. You should get 4 to 5V briefly on the cathode if you're getting SOS7. This would also show up at test point TPSOS7 obviously. If you're not getting voltage there just before the error trips then possibly the A board is misdiagnosing.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50G10. 6 blinks to 7 blinks.
Need separate readings for anode and cathode of D480 (black probe on chassis ground).
No idea about that. Usually it just repeats as it sounds like it's doing now....

Measure voltage on either side of diode D480 on start up. Looking for where the SOS7 signal is coming from.

What about +15V (TP82) ?

Test voltages at test points on SC board. VSUS, VAD, VSCN.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50G10. 6 blinks to 7 blinks.
Wow, unusual on your old board to have a fault not originating with Q661 but Q441 shorted explains why it was 6 blinks as that is part of the energy recovery circuit. Not sure why your new board is doing SOS7. Double check everything is connected right including reseating the ribbon from the A board - make sure it's in all the way.
You can isolate the SC board from the SU/SD by disconnecting the three black connectors to them and removing the four big screws that join them to the SC, then short the two pins of the jumper...

Re: Panasonic TC-P50G10. 6 blinks to 7 blinks.
Assuming you installed everything correctly you may have got a bad replacement SC. Sometimes SC2 connector doesn't show a short but check Q661 for shorts between any of its pins. Good idea to do this on any replacement board before even installing it. If there's any faults Q661 will show it.

Re: Panasonic TX-P42G15
For completeness I need to post here to report I finally fixed my tnpa4782.I had switched over to posting about it on this thread by tw2005:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=823451#post823451
PC461 turned out to be bad and I had forgotten to solder R707 back in. That got me to SOS6 instead of 7. Then I found there was a broken trace under IC521 causing missing drive signal to Q451. Read the thread for the full story.
The IGBTs from utsource I posted about before seem to work fine but I was told...

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
FIXED IT!! FINALLY!!
I recently decided it was time to get myself an oscilloscope and without it I'd probably have been working on this board till who knows when.
SOS6 was triggering super fast so I decided to risk jumpering SOS6 to ground and in that state it would fire up with fans spinning. Was testing with buffers isolated and SC50 jumpered so no idea what would have happened on screen. Noticeably a lot less buzz than a working board.
MID voltage would go to 60V or so on start-up and then...

Re: CELCUS (VESTEL) CEL-49FHDSB-16/1 - No picture but backlights are on
So got hold of a scope finally. I do see activity on LVDS connector when hitting the menu button so looks like the main is ok. Voltages on t-con are fine but I'm not sure how to check if picture data is getting through to the panel. I'm going to try my luck with another t-con as they are available cheap. I'm suspecting bad panel but I just don't understand the behaviour of the half-screen test.

Re: TX-P50VT20E 10 Blink Code
Most likely SC board multiple components shorted. If you disconnect the SC board and switch on the blink code should change to 7. Also check Q661 on SC board - most likely shorted.
Here's the monster TNPA5081 rebuild thread:

Re: Pioneer Kuro PDP-LX5090 buzzing and crackling
Yup. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, it seems some just do buzz more than others. One I had later on had the EMI strips in perfect condition but was louder than the one I replaced them on. If you read through you'll see I did dunk the vsus transformer in varnish before I figured out the strips were bad which may have contributed a little to quietening that one. I guess some of us were hoping this would be a magic solution to making our Kuros super quiet but it looks like it may only help in some of the cases.
How...

Re: HP Pavilion 15-P189na led backlight issue
Thanks. In the end I have ordered a replacement screen. I did take apart the old screen as I thought nothing to lose in trying. I think you're right that the flat cable supplying the leds was the problem as pushing on it did cause more leds to go in and out. However, the leds are quite well embedded in the metal frame of the panel and by the time I got it all apart to take out the strip it was looking like it would never go back together quite the same so I thought not worth the time.
